Compliance and Enforcement • Most Municipalities not complaint with law and legislation (landfill sites) and illegal dumping sites • Seek assistance for funding from National and Partner with various stakeholders in parallel with applying law enforcement (Operation Green Muzzle) • Intensify environmental education to communities via media and workshops

EPWP (Environment & Culture Sector) • Participants not wanting to exit the program at the end of term irrespective of the contract and its conditions plus induction • Continue to teach EPWP participants abut the EPWP concept and re-emphasising during recruitment on the nature and timeframes of EPWP, have more sustainable projects like Enviro-mobi and instil the culture of Business in Waste management fraternity 5. CONCLUSION

• On a scale 1-5 (effectiveness, implementation and responding to waste issues on time), FS is on 3 • Focused are research (province) to be conducted to have a sustainable solution to the waste management issues 2020/21 • Environmental capacity building to our communities • Environmental education – more on waste projects • Formulation of waste management cooperatives within FS • Partnering with private sectors • Strengthening relations more with local municipalities • Capacitating municipalities with personnel through National (WESSA Programme, etc.) • Engage more with DEFF w.r.t. various funding • Assisting municipalities with Yellow Fleet • Establish and incentive model for supporting SMMEs in Waste Management • Trip to another province, Rwanda (Benchmarking) with National or just Province • Continue with Environmental Management Awards with Prizes
