Leksykon Polskiej I Światowej Muzyki Elektronicznej
Piotr Mulawka Leksykon polskiej i światowej muzyki elektronicznej „Zrealizowano w ramach programu stypendialnego Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego-Kultura w sieci” Wydawca: Piotr Mulawka [email protected] © 2020 Wszelkie prawa zastrzeżone ISBN 978-83-943331-4-0 2 Przedmowa Muzyka elektroniczna narodziła się w latach 50-tych XX wieku, a do jej powstania przyczyniły się zdobycze techniki z końca XIX wieku m.in. telefon- pierwsze urządzenie służące do przesyłania dźwięków na odległość (Aleksander Graham Bell), fonograf- pierwsze urządzenie zapisujące dźwięk (Thomas Alv Edison 1877), gramofon (Emile Berliner 1887). Jak podają źródła, w 1948 roku francuski badacz, kompozytor, akustyk Pierre Schaeffer (1910-1995) nagrał za pomocą mikrofonu dźwięki naturalne m.in. (śpiew ptaków, hałas uliczny, rozmowy) i próbował je przekształcać. Tak powstała muzyka nazwana konkretną (fr. musigue concrete). W tym samym roku wyemitował w radiu „Koncert szumów”. Jego najważniejszą kompozycją okazał się utwór pt. „Symphonie pour un homme seul” z 1950 roku. W kolejnych latach muzykę konkretną łączono z muzyką tradycyjną. Oto pionierzy tego eksperymentu: John Cage i Yannis Xenakis. Muzyka konkretna pojawiła się w kompozycji Rogera Watersa. Utwór ten trafił na ścieżkę dźwiękową do filmu „The Body” (1970). Grupa Beaver and Krause wprowadziła muzykę konkretną do utworu „Walking Green Algae Blues” z albumu „In A Wild Sanctuary” (1970), a zespół Pink Floyd w „Animals” (1977). Pierwsze próby tworzenia muzyki elektronicznej miały miejsce w Darmstadt (w Niemczech) na Międzynarodowych Kursach Nowej Muzyki w 1950 roku. W 1951 roku powstało pierwsze studio muzyki elektronicznej przy Rozgłośni Radia Zachodnioniemieckiego w Kolonii (NWDR- Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk). Tu tworzyli: H. Eimert (Glockenspiel 1953), K. Stockhausen (Elektronische Studie I, II-1951-1954), H. -
Caro Emerald
Cruise-lovers are in for a treat this New Year's Eve as P&O Cruises are set to host a spectacular live BBC Radio 2 outside broadcast in Madeira aboard Oceana with a performance from Dutch jazz singer Caro Emerald. The artist will be playing two CARO EMERALD sets of her best-loved songs in a first-ever live BBC performance on board a P&O Cruises ship. Caro Emerald will be introduced by presenter Ana Matronic who will be broadcasting live on Radio 2 from 11 pm. Caro Emerald has fashioned her own niche of retro jazz with sampling and modern pop since the release of her multi-platinum debut album, Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Floor, in 2010, while Matronic is best known as the lead singer of Scissor Sisters, whose hits include I Don't Feel like Dancin' and 'Take Your Mama'. - burtonmail.co.uk In August 2010, Caro Emerald's debut album, Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor, spent its 30th week at #1 in the Dutch album charts, setting an all-time record and beating Michael Jackson's "Thriller" by one week. The album became the biggest selling album of 2010 in the Netherlands with over 350.000 copies to date. Worldwide, over 1.4 million copies have been sold. On October 3, 2010, Emerald was awarded the Dutch music prize "Edison Award" for Best Female Artist. In May 2013, Caro's second album, The Shocking Miss Emerald, was released. It entered at #1 in the UK album chart. + + + + + Thanks to UncleBoko for sharing the show at Dime. -
Jake Shears Lists Los Feliz Architectural (EXCLUSIVE)
Jake Shears Lists Los Feliz Architectural (EXCLUSIVE) March 7, 2019 Mark David Location: Los Angeles, Calif. Price: $2.248 million Size: 2,309 square feet, 3-4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms A 1937 Streamline Moderne residence nestled into the foothills of L.A.’s Los Feliz area, owned by alt-pop singer/songwriter Jake Shears, has hit the market at $2.248 million. The famously energetic and frequently porn-stached 40-year-old singer and musician, on indefinite hiatus from the powerhouse early aughts glam-rock band Scissor Sisters, purchased the eye-catching, architecturally significant home in 2013 with his then- boyfriend, accomplished documentary filmmaker Chris Moukarbel (“Gaga: Five Foot Two”), from abstract painter Beatrice Findlay for $1.92 million. Defined by a semi-circular, glass-block tower that houses a winding stone staircase and entered amid a variety of spiky plants via a petite, elevated porch, the three-story white- stucco villa is widely attributed to accomplished if somewhat unsung architect William Kesling and known in architecture circles as Ulm House. With many original details intact, there are three and potentially four bedrooms and four carefully preserved or re- created vintage-tiled bathrooms in a smidgen more than 2,300 square feet. Adjoining living and dining rooms with honey-toned hardwood floors and gigantic, curtain-free steel-trimmed windows that extend all the way to the ceiling flow easily out to a terrazzo terrace with over-the-treetops canyon and city lights views. There’s an angled fireplace and built-in banquette seating in the living room and the dining room, simply but strikingly furnished with a colorfully contemporary take on a picnic table, is open over a short peninsula snack bar to an unquestionably compact but generously windowed and fully up-to-date kitchen. -
Super ACRONYM 2 - Round 8
Super ACRONYM 2 - Round 8 1. In 1938, then-rookie Andy Farkas became the first NFL player to perform this general type of action, doing so on an opening kickoff. The 1984 Iron Bowl is nicknamed for this type of action, in reference to an incident in which Bo Jackson supposedly did it on a fourth-and-goal play, though Jackson did it without the ball. A play of this type is the defining moment in the career of (*) Roy Riegels, who did it in a loss in the 1929 Rose Bowl. In a 1964 game in San Francisco, one of these actions occurred following a Billy Kilmer fumble despite the pleas of Carl Eller and his fellow Purple People Eaters. The otherwise excellent Jim Marshall came to be best known for taking, for 10 points, what counter-productive way of moving with a football? ANSWER: running the wrong way (accept similar answers describing moving in the wrong direction or running towards your own end zone; prompt on "losing yards" or similar answers that don't describe the action itself) <Nelson> 2. This man sends a "commonplace attorney called Robinson" to the Old Starre Inn to present a contract that eventually forces a Learned Society to disband. This man's "past and present and future" are foretold by a tattooed fortune teller whose tarot cards all turn into the card The Emperor. An assassination attempt against this man fails when the bullet hits his servant, (*) Childermass [CHILL-der-mass].
