And Friends Biography COUNTESS AND FRIENDS BIOGRAPHY Countess Luann is a reality television star, author, actress, singer and mother. An original cast member of Bravo’s hit TV show The Real Housewives of New York, Luann just finished filming her tenth season with a weekly viewership of three million. Most recently Luann appeared in her first cabaret show #CountessAndFriends at Feinstein’s 54 Below. After rave reviews, demand grows for more shows as they continue to sell out. #CountessAndFriends is now set to go across the country this summer. Luann is presently working on a new single to add to her global dance hits “Money Can’t Buy You Class”, “Chic C’est La Vie” and “Girl Code.” Author of Class With The Countess, she is also at work on her second book. #cOUNTESSANDFRIENDS Luann de Lesseps—known as the Countess on “The Real Housewives of New York City”—is a television personality, pop singer and author. She has broken all box office records at New York’s famed Feinstein’s 54 Below with her acclaimed, long-running neo-cabaret variety act, #CountessAndFriends. The string of sold-out successes continues as de Lesseps plays to standing room only crowds in the most desired theaters and supper clubs around the globe. Hip as a New York minute and classically chic, the glamorous life of de Lesseps in the fast lane on several continents (together with a solid decade at the center of reality TV) provides fodder for hilarious stories, one-of-a-kind anecdotes and, of course, some standards and pop songs in her inimitable style. In #CountessAndFriends she is joined by an eclectic group of the most sought after stars of stage and screen, both iconic and ascendant, delivering a glorious return to the heyday of cosmopolitan evening entertainment. #CountessAndFriends is written and directed by Out Magazine’s “The Midas of Cabaret” Ben Rimalower with musical direction and arrangements by Grammy winner Billy Stritch. “Countess Luann de Lesseps of The Real Housewives of New York City fame takes to the stage in a cabaret show entitled ‘#CountessAndFriends’ (hashtag hers) at Feinstein’s 54 Below, a venue whose Haunted Mansion meets bordello décor was more than suited for the occasion. Luann de Lesseps is arguably the classiest and most royal-seeming of the housewives... A VISION OF CLASS!! And countess who is a-THRIVING! • 30 Rock: Complexity, Metareferentiality and the Contemporary Quality Sitcom
30 Rock: Complexity, Metareferentiality and the Contemporary Quality Sitcom Katrin Horn When the sitcom 30 Rock first aired in 2006 on NBC, the odds were against a renewal for a second season. Not only was it pitched against another new show with the same “behind the scenes”-idea, namely the drama series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. 30 Rock’s often absurd storylines, obscure references, quick- witted dialogues, and fast-paced punch lines furthermore did not make for easy consumption, and thus the show failed to attract a sizeable amount of viewers. While Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip did not become an instant success either, it still did comparatively well in the Nielson ratings and had the additional advantage of being a drama series produced by a household name, Aaron Sorkin1 of The West Wing (NBC, 1999-2006) fame, at a time when high-quality prime-time drama shows were dominating fan and critical debates about TV. Still, in a rather surprising programming decision NBC cancelled the drama series, renewed the comedy instead and later incorporated 30 Rock into its Thursday night line-up2 called “Comedy Night Done Right.”3 Here the show has been aired between other single-camera-comedy shows which, like 30 Rock, 1 | Aaron Sorkin has aEntwurf short cameo in “Plan B” (S5E18), in which he meets Liz Lemon as they both apply for the same writing job: Liz: Do I know you? Aaron: You know my work. Walk with me. I’m Aaron Sorkin. The West Wing, A Few Good Men, The Social Network.

Brown Music and lyrics by Charlie Smalls Adapted from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum Berkeley, CA (June 5, 2013) – Berkeley Playhouse closes its fifth season with the Tony Award-winning musical THE WIZ. Kimberly Dooley (Lucky Duck, Seussical, The Musical, Once On This Island) directs and choreographs this soulful re-imagining of L. Frank Baum’s family classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, featuring a cast of 46. THE WIZ plays July 13 through August 25 (Press opening: July 13) at the Julia Morgan Theater in Berkeley. For tickets ($17-60) and more information, the public may visit berkeleyplayhouse.org or call 510-845-8542x351. In THE WIZ, Dorothy gets swept away by a tornado and ends up in the land of Oz. There, she learns that the only way she can get home again is to see the magical Wiz in the Emerald City. Along the way, she meets a Scarecrow made of garbage who wants a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart, and a Lion who wants courage, and together they set off down the Yellow Brick Road to seek help from the all-powerful Wiz. This stage classic about the power of believing in yourself features such soul-stirring songs as “Home,” “The Feeling We Once Had,” “If You Believe,” “No Bad News,” and “Ease On Down the Road.” THE WIZ opened on Broadway in 1975 and closed in 1979, after four years and 1,672 performances.
