Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of is known as the great musical thriller of Mr. . And, it is. But it is more than that. So much more than that. is also a love story. Oh, I realize it may not look like it on the surface. It’s dark and gruesome and bloody. But, at its core, it is a love story. “There was a barber and his wife, and she was beautiful…” these are some of the first words sung by Sweeney. This story is one of lost love and broken dreams. Sweeney’s very soul has been unjustly ripped away from him. He has nothing left but his anger and his unwavering need for justice. That’s all he has left. We’ve all been there. Perhaps not so dramatically, but we’ve all been unjustly wronged and yearned for justice. Sweeney’s tactics are extreme, but his is relatable. Some tremendous creative minds have come together for this project. It is an extremely challenging piece in every aspect, but it had masters at the helm of every one of them. We have made magic. Make no mistake. This show will move you. You will shout with laughter and gasp in horror. But no matter what your reaction is… you will feel. Now, relax and be ready to attend ... ~Matt Hester, Director~
