About TIDCO
TIDCO, a Government of Tamil Nadu Enterprise, was incorporated as a Limited Company in the year 1965 ;in order to identify and promote the establishment of large and medium scale industries within the State of Tamil Nadu in association with the private sector. The company's authorized share capital is Rs.1250 million of which Rs.720 million has been issued and has been entirely subscribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The Government of Tamil Nadu has also extended loan assistance aggregating to Rs.1695 million as at March, 31st 2008 to the company. TIDCO is also registered with the Reserve Bank of India as Non-Banking Financial Company and public deposits outstanding as on 31.03.2008 is at Rs.32.35 Crores TIDCO has been specified as Public Financial Institution within the meaning of Section 4A of the Companies Act, 1956.
TIDCO's association with private sector enterprises may be separated into four categories viz. Joint Sector, Associate Sector, Escort Sector and Escort Services. Equity participation by TIDCO in the Joint Sector projects ranges from 11 to 26 % and in the associate Sector ranges 2 to 11% equity. The Escort Sector includes ventures with 1% equity from TIDCO. TIDCO provides facilitation services for all investors and these include multi-national and overseas investors who wish to launch new ventures in Tamil Nadu. In cases where TIDCO does not take up equity participation, these projects are categorized as Escort Service projects.
Among project related Escort Service activities, TIDCO has successfully promoted the establishment of Ford India Ltd. and Hyundai Motor (India) Ltd. in addition to other reputed companies. The Board of Directors of TIDCO comprises senior officials of the State Government.
TIDCO has a team of professional managers drawn from the fields of Engineering, Management, Finance and Law. TIDCO has commissioned over Eighty five projects to date with a total equity investment of Rs.3540 million and of these companies. TIDCO has disinvested its holdings in twenty seven companies. TIDCO's project cover a wide range of activities such as Iron & Steel, Fertilizers, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Engineering, Automobiles, Agro and Food Processing, Leather, Textiles, Pharmaceuticals, Floriculture, Horticulture, Electronics & Communication, Infrastructure / Industrial parks includes Agri Export Zones (AEZs) and Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
Tamil Nadu Road Development Company Limited (TNRDC)
Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO) and Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Limited (IL & FS) has jointly promoted a company styled Tamil Nadu Road Development Company Limited as a Public - Private Partnership (PPP) Company. TNRDC has been formed to develop, finance, build, operate, maintain and manage highway systems, design and engineering for integrated toll road management of highways. Tamil Nadu Road Development Company, is the Concessionaire for East Coast Road Project (ECR) and Managing Associate for i) Outer Ring Road Project of Chennai by Government of Tamil Nadu, ii) Guindy Industrial Estate Infrastructure Upgradation Company, SPV of SIDCO iii) NHAI Projects. In addition, TNRDC has created a Special Purpose Vehicle, viz. IT Expressway Ltd. for improvement and Maintenance of Rajiv Gandhi Salai (IT Corridor) from Madhya Kailash to Mahabalipuram in two Phases.

IT Corridor Project (Rajiv Gandhi Salai)
IT Expressway Ltd (ITEL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tamil Nadu Road Development Company Ltd (TNRDC). The Project is implemented in two phases. In, Phase-I the existing Rajiv Gandhi Salai 20.1 km stretch between Madhya Kailash Temple Junction and Siruseri are being improved. In addition to this, in Phase -I, the 2.1 km long ECR Link Road connecting IT Corridor at Sholinganallur and East Coast Road is also widened to dual two lane carriageway. The estimated cost of the phase I of the project is Rs.290 Crores excluding cost of land, rehabilitation and resettlement. The main carriageway work has been completed. The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu had inaugurated the road for use by public on 29.10.2008. The toll collection had commenced from 15th December, 2008.
The works relating to CMWSSB and TNEB are in progress. Once the works of CMWSSB and TNEB are completed, TNRDC will take up construction of service road, foot path, non-motorised vehicle lanes, etc, and the entire work will be completed by December, 2009. The land acquisition for the Phase II of IT Corridor Project from Siruseri to Mahabalipuram is in progress and TNRDC is facilitating it.

TANFAC Industries Ltd
TANFAC Industries Limited is a Public Limited Company incorporated under the companies' act 1956. The Company was jointly promoted by Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO) and Aditya Birla Group of Companies. The project was developed at a cost of Rs. 89.38 Crores in an area of 60 acres of land in the chemical complex of SIPCOT at Cuddalore near Pondicherry. The company was certified by an ISO 9001 , 14001, TPM.
TIDCO's equity investment in the company is Rs.260 lakhs. Total paid up capital of the company is Rs.997.5 lakhs and the shareholding pattern of the promoters and his associates - 25%, TIDCO - 26% and Public and other institutions - 49%. The Company started commercial production in 1985. Tanfac is engaged in the manufacture of inorganic Fluorine based chemicals given below :

Potassium Fluoride and various other Organic Fluorine based chemicals Inorganic Fluorine based chemicals manufactured by TANFAC have vital applications in industries as varied as Aluminium Smelting, Petroleum Refining, Refrigerant Gases, Steel Re-rolling, Glass, Ceramics, Sugar, Fertilizers, Heavy Water, etc. Organic Fluoro chemicals are used as intermediates in the manufacture of Pharmachemicals and Agrochemicals. The company focuses on variety of speciality fluorides which are developed and manufactured depending on specific requirement of customers.
Tamil Nadu Petroproducts Limited
Tamil Nadu Petroproducts Limited (TPL) was formed in association with SPIC in Joint Sector after executing promoters agreement between SPIC and TIDCO on 6.1.84. TPL is in the manufacture and marketing of Petrochemicals and Chemical intermediates such as Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB). Epichlorohydrin (ECH), Caustic Soda and Chlorine. These products cater to the needs of the industries as basic chemicals and also serve as intermediates for manufacture of several household materials. Chlorine, a co-product of caustic soda, finds variety of applications as a bleaching and chlorinating agent.
LAB continues to be the major raw material for manufacture of synthetic detergents and other cleaning products. In India, LAB is primarily used for manufacture of synthetic detergent cakes and powders used in household sector after conversion to LAB Sulfonate (LAS). TPL continues to enjoy dominant position in the South India LAB market. TPL also continues to be the preferred supplier of LAB to international detergent manufacturers like Unilever, P&G and Henkel.
TPL continues to be the sole producer of Epichlorohydrin (ECH) in India. ECH is used in the production of synthetic materials including Epoxy Resins, Wet-strength resins for the Paper industry, Water Treatment resins and Elastomers.
