Delhi’s waterscape heritage is unique as it has a continual natural water system and there is a huge potential Contents for pedestrianisation and urban connections along these waterways. The aim is to channelize pedestrian 1 Context 6 movement within the city, using the existing waterways, greens, historic and transit features of the city in order 1.1 Aims and Objectives 8 to enhance connectivity within the urban fabric. The endeavour is to create a pedestrian-friendly city. 1.2 Drain Channels in Delhi 10 The project re-imagines part of Najafgarh Waterway in . It starts from and ends at . 1.3 Najafgarh Waterway 12 The aim of the design is to provide a continuous pedestrian and cyclable trail system along the waterway that 1.3.1 Historic Overview of Najafgarh 13 complements the existing context and proposes various activities that supplement the facilities found in the 1.3.2 Najafgarh Flood Data 14 neighbouring communities.
