A buyer's premium of 15% of sale price will be added to the hammer price of each lot. 2. Subject to term #1, the highest bidder for each lot shall be the purchaser thereof at one increment over the second highest bid. 3. The Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse any bid or bids without explanation. 4. In the event of any dispute as to the highest bidder, the Auctioneer shall have absolute discretion to determine the dispute. 5. The bidding and advances shall be regulated by and at the absolute discretion of the Auctioneer. 6. The Auctioneer reserves the right before or during a sale to group together lots belonging to the same vendor, to split up and to withdraw any lot or lots at the Auctioneer's discretion and without giving any reason in any case (without liability to any potential purchaser). 7. The auctioneer acts as agent between vendor and purchaser only and shall not be liable for any default of the purchaser (providing he has not handed over the goods) or vendor. 8. All phone bids must be confirmed in writing. We will act on behalf of the mail bidder and will enter all bids via mail or telephone with due diligence. However, we accept no responsibility for errors in either understanding or executing bids. Phone bids made within 7 days of auction by bidders unknown to us must be secured by Visa, MasterCard or American Express numbers and expiration date. Successful bidders are expected to make payment in full before lots are delivered, immediately upon notification. All payments must be made in US funds drawable upon a U.S. bank. All bidders who have not previously established credit must furnish satisfactory references well in advance of the sale date, or send a deposit of 25% of their bids which is applicable to purchases. Any portion of such deposit not used will be promptly refunded after the sale. Lots will not be sent until paid in full. Bidders who have established credit are expected to remit on receipt. No claims or returns accepted for any reason (except authenticity) after 14 days of receipt. Proof by the Auctioneer of receipt of sending at the address submitted with the bid sheet shall constitute delivery. Until paid in full, all lots remain the property of MICHAEL ROGERS INC. on behalf of the seller. If payment is not received on time, we have the option to offer any lot to the underbidder. Auctioneer reserves the right to dispose of all lots without notice to the defaulting buyer if payment is not made under the terms specified herein, and the defaulting buyer agrees to pay the reasonable costs of such subsequent sales; should a lower price be obtained, the defaulting buyer further agrees to pay any such difference to the auctioneer. LATE REMITTANCE MAY BE CONSIDERED JUST CAUSE TO REVOKE ALL RE- TURN PRIVILEGES. 11. If purchase price has not been paid within the time limits agreed, a late charge of 1½% per month shall be imposed on overdue payments. If legal action is required, all expenses are to be paid by the bidder, and all matters arising on account of this auction shall be construed under laws of the State of Florida. Jurisdiction shall be in Orange County, State of Florida. 12. All cost of mailing lots will be paid by buyer. Handling and insurance minimum $3.00 on invoices with hammer prices of $250.00 or more. We normally mail lots via priority insured mail with delivery confirmation ( minimum $10 ); foreign buyers, ( minimum $30) express mail. 13. US & Foreign Delivery successful winners under $20 sent by regular airmail, not Registered or Insured, at customer's risk. 14. All returned lots are at expense of buyer. AUTHENTICITY: 15. All lots are sold as genuine and correctly described; if in the buyer’s opinion a description is incorrect, the lot must be returned intact within 14 days of receipt. If an extension of time is required for submission of a lot to a mutually acceptable authority for expertizing, the buyer must notify us within 14 days of receipt that an opinion is being sought, together with the name of the authority and expected date of the opinion. The sale shall remain open until an opinion is rendered; however, no returns will be accepted under any circumstances more than two months from the date of sale. A finding of “no opinion” is not grounds for the return of a lot. All expenses for expertizing will be borne by the buyer except in the case that a lot is proven not to be as described, in which case the seller will refund the actual costs, not to exceed $50 per lot. 16. All lots for which an opinion is sought must be paid for at the time of notification. 17. There is a strong emphasis on postal history at the expense of articles on stamps. A number of readers at the time of joining indicated that they were primarily Iceland stamp collectors; therefore the following invitation is directed mainly at them.

Jenkins B.S., University of Cincinnati, 2001 Committee Chair : Michael Mcinturf Abstract In these Modern Times, “facts” and “proofs” seem necessary for achieving any credibility in a field where there is a client. To arrive at a “truth,” many architects quickly turn to a dictionary for the final “truth” of a word, such as “privacy” or to a road map to find the “truth” in site conditions, or to a census count for the “truth” of people migration. It is, of coarse, part of the Modern Crisis that many feel the need to go with the way of technology, for fear that Architecture might otherwise fall by the wayside because of its perceived irrelevancy or frivolousness. Following this action, with time, could very well reduce Architecture to a form of methodology and inevitably end with the replacement or removal of the profession from its importance- as creators of a “Truth.” The following thesis is a serious reclamation. The body of work moves to take back for Architecture its power, and specifically it holds up and praises the most important thing we have, but in modern times have been giving away: Life.

One of the rules I have always adopted is if you are a member of a Society you should do something to further the cause of that body. My opportunity came when I read the President's Message in the December 2008 Air Mail Journal that he wanted somebody to up date the Index of the Air Post Journal so I volunteered little knowing of the task that I was undertaking. I am not a professional indexer but have had a little experience in indexing magazines in the UK. The task was to index the magazines from 1990 to 2008 (228 magazines) roughly in line with the index published in 1992. As previously stated the index continues from the previous edition except that I have included items from Letters to the Editor. I feel that there is much information contained in these letters which is of value to aerophilatelists. To quote the previous index "The APJ Index is meant to be a document helpful, but not comprehensive" and I have tried to continue in this vein. That said I hope that the Index will prove to be of some use. Needless to say any errors, omissions etc are entirely down to me.

    SECTION 1: LUNAR HISTORY Dr. Jennifer Edmunson 1.1 Introduction Why understanding events in lunar history is important for engineers and simulant users: • It explains the motivation for exploration of the Moon. o To understand the evolution of our own planet. • It explains the origin of the operating environment for spacecraft, and ultimately influences the spacecraft design. • It describes human and spacecraft hazards. o Morphology of the landing site. o Micrometeorite bombardment. o Lunar regolith (boulders, dust). • It influences landing site locations. o Areas in permanent sunlight and shadow. o Regions of interest to scientists. • It provides the basis for predicting the chemical composition and physical properties of the lunar surface at specific sites. • It explains the impact history of the moon, which has changed the surface into its present form (creating the regolith). • It describes the processes that created the size distribution of regolith components, as well as their chemistry. 1.2 Initial Impact The Earth and Moon have similar chemistries and share the same oxygen isotope signature. This oxygen isotope signature is different from other planets and asteroids. Because of this, the Earth and Moon must have formed at the same distance from the Sun, or from a single chemical reservoir. The “Giant Impact” theory of lunar origin involves the proto-Earth being struck by a Mars-sized impactor (called Theia). Scientists favor this theory because it explains not only the similarities in composition (and the identical oxygen isotope signature) and the known mass of both the Earth and Moon, but the angular momentum of the Earth-Moon system.
