ARMY ROTC The Best Leadership Course in America U.S.ARMY Dear Scholarship Applicant: This application represents one of the greatest opportunities available to young men and women in the United States today. The U.S. Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps is the best leadership course in America, and service as a commissioned Army officer provides the best leadership experience in the world. We are looking for scholars, athletes, and leaders like you who have demonstrated talents in high school and are ready to take on a real challenge. Our programs give you the opportunity to learn excellent leadership and management skills, and to participate in some of the finest training available. Upon graduation and commissioning as an Army officer, you’ll continue to hone your leadership skills either on active duty or in a reserve component (U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard). Alumni of Army ROTC programs have made significant contributions in all walks of life. Sam Walton (WalMart), was a military intelligence officer; Coach Lou Holtz and Lieutenant General (Retired) Marc Cisneros (CEO, John G. & Marie Stella Kennedy Memorial Foundation), artillery officers; Earl Graves (CEO and Publisher, Black Enterprise Magazine), a special forces officer; and Secretary of State Colin Powell, an infantry officer – all Army ROTC alumni. To provide you an incentive, Army ROTC awards scholarships to qualified students enrolling in a variety of academic diciplines – scholarships that pay full tuition at most schools, plus book and mandatory fees and a monthly stipend of spending money directly to the student. We select the very best candidates for scholarships, and a correctly completed application is one of the most important parts of the selection process. Be sure to put your very best effort into your application. Competition is too keen to submit anything less than your best. Every item of information on your application reveals something about you.
