You will need: ­3 empty cans Strong tape A large sheet of A can opener Clear tape paper

instructions: ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED 1. Remove the lids on both ends of the empty cans. 2. Tape the cans together to form a long log shape. 3. Have an adult help you to cut open the large paper bag into a flat sheet. 4. Measure the width of your can log and cut the paper into the same width, making sure that it’s large enough to cover the circumference of your log drum. 5. Draw and color the paper using crayons and markers. Create whatever patterns and designs you would like -- maybe draw a wood grain design onto the brown paper to make it look like a real log. 6. Roll your paper design around the can log and use clear tape to secure it in place. 7. Use two pencils, sticks or spoons to strike the log drum to create your own jungle rhythms! Set your log drum on the floor or various surfaces to experiment with the different sound qualities you can produce with your drum!

Seal your container with glue (or tape). 6. Decorate your shakers and shake-shake-shake.

Glue (or tape) your decorated papers to the inside and outside of your box. 4. Extend the various widths of rubber bands around the outside of the box and arrange them next to each other from thickest to thinnest.

5. Pluck individual strings or strum them altogether and you now have your very own shoebox harp!

You will need: A toilet tissue or Wax paper Scissors paper towel tube Rubber band Pencil or pen

instructions: ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED

1. Have an adult help you to cut the wax paper into a circle that is larger than the end of your cardboard tube.

2. Put the cut circle over the end of the tube and smooth it out. Hold it in place with the rubber band. Be sure to keep it smooth and tight around the outer edge of your tube.

3. With the pencil or pen, twist a hole into the tub just below the rubber band.

4. To play your kazoo, hold the open end of the tube to your mouth and hum or sing into it. You just might have to pucker your lips a bit. Bzzzzz!
