General Secretary Photos: UEFA Creating history together… On 7 February, the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying draw takes place in Warsaw. The 51 participating national associations will go into six seeding pots, determined by the UEFA coefficient ranking system. The only two associations not in the draw are Poland and , who, as the host nations, have qualified automatically. With the whole of the European football family taking part in this festive occasion, it provides a clear and heartening affirmation of the game’s undiminished vitality. The qualifying competition promises to be a fiercely contested affair, with 51 teams battling it out for 14 places in the finals, where they will join the two host nations. As European champions, Spain will have the honour of being the first team drawn from pot number one.
