Overview of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai
Malaysia opened its Consulate General Office in Shanghai in December 1999. The Consulate General was initially located at Equatorial Hotel, Yan’an Xi Road. At present, the Consulate General is located at Unit 01, Block B, 9th Floor, Dawning Center, No. 500 Hongbaoshi Road, Changning District, Shanghai 201103.
The Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai covers the Yangtze Delta - the largest economic region in China, consisting of Shanghai, and the provinces of Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The Yangtze Delta is one of the most populous places in the world and is leading the development towards economic prosperity in the China
The Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai is committed in supporting efforts of the Government of Malaysia, and the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing to forge comprehensive strategic partnership and foster closer bilateral relations between Malaysia and China, particularly in the region of eastern China. We are also mandated to provide the necessary consular services and assistance to both Malaysian and Chinese nationals in the region.
The Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai comprises four sections, i.e. trade, investment, tourism and immigration.

Sarawak definitely has a long list of unique culinary offerings, i.e. the delectable “manok pansuh” which is chicken cooked in bamboo; the sa- voury “Sarawak laksa;” the delicious “kolo mee;” the mouth-watering jungle fern “midin” dish; the herby broth known as “kueh chap;” the rich “manok kacangma” made from motherwort and rice wine; the seasonal “dabai” fruit; the Melanau “umai” delicacy with thin slivers of fish and rich sago pearls, and more. Working Visit of YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport to Shanghai and Wuxi, 16 – 19 January 2019
YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport, Malaysia undertook a Working Visit to Shanghai and Wuxi from 16 – 19 January 2019. During the visit, YB Minister had meet- ings with local authorities for mutual coopera- tion between Malaysia and China in the transport sector including maritime, aviation and rail transport, to learn from China in ex- panding infrastructure as well as integrating the use of digital technology for better efficiency and convenience.
Working Visit of YB Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs to Shanghai and Hangzhou, 24-26 Feb 2019 YB Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Is- mail, Minister of Domestic Trade and Con- sumer Affairs undertook a three - day work- ing visit to Shanghai and Hangzhou from 24 to 26 February 2019. The visit was aimed at strengthening cooperation in the areas of do- mestic economic empowerment and to gain insight into the digitization of small and me- dium enterprise (SMEs) in China.

The 2019 Malaysia Cultural Week G-Hub was held in
Greenland Global Commodity Trading Hub, Shanghai
from 29 March – 7 April 2019. The festival, organized
by the Greenland Global Commodity Trading Hub and
supported by the Consulate General of Malaysia in
Shanghai, provided the opportunity for participants to
experience a glimpse of Malaysia, as well as a platform
for direct purchasing, retailing and business match-
making programs for durian products.

The International Glove Seminar organized by

Shanghai on 19 June 2019. The export of frozen
whole durian from Malaysia to China marks
the close collaboration between China and
Malaysia, and paved the way forward for
more frozen Malaysian durians to be imported
into China.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR CHINESE CITIZEN TO ENTER MALAYSIA
Citizen of People’s Republic of China (PRC) are required to apply for visa to seek entry into Malaysia. PRC nationals holding official and diplomatic passports are exempted from the entry visa requirement.
HOW TO APPLY FOR A MALAYSIA VISA
CONVENTIONAL VISA (STICKER)
With effect from October 2012, the Malaysian Embassy/Consulate General in People's Republic of China does not accept individual walk-in applications. Application must be submitted to the appointed Visa Application Centre by the name of VisaMalaysia. VisaMalaysia is the only Malaysian Visa Application Processing Center in the People's Republic of China authorized by the Government of Malaysia to receive and process visa applications and distribute passports to applicants. In addition, VisaMalaysia is authorized to collect visa fees on behalf of the Malaysian Government.

ONLINE VISA (eVISA) eVISA is an online application platform that enables PRC nationals to apply for an electronic visa to enter Malaysia at the comfort of your convenience. The implementation of eVISA has been started since 1st March 2016 via www.windowmalaysia.my.
FEES
Every application will be charged with visa and processing fee. The visa fee for PRC nationals is RMB80, while the processing fee for each application is RMB200. Fees are paid upon application of visas. The processing fee is non- refundable regardless of the outcome of the application or if you withdraw the application after submission.
VISA WAIVER PROGRAMME
Effective of 1st March 2016, Government of Malaysia has decided to waive the visa requirement for PRC tourist who meet the certain criteria as follows:
i) Register through Electronic Travel Registration & Information (eNTRI). Electronic Travel Registration & Infor mation (eNTRI) is an online registration facility provided by the Government of Malaysia to facilitate the en trance of PRC passport holder tourists who are residing in People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macau) into Malaysia under the Visa Waiver Programme. An eNTRI Note will be issued as proof of the regis tration and is required to be presented upon arrival in Malaysia.
ii) Duration of stay not more than 15 days;
iii) Applicant must enter Malaysia by a direct flight from China Mainland / Hong Kong / Macau or may enter Malaysia via Singapore, Thailand and Brunei through selected Entry Points; and
