The Consulate General was initially located at Equatorial Hotel, Yan’an Xi Road. At present, the Consulate General is located at Unit 01, Block B, 9th Floor, Dawning Center, No. 500 Hongbaoshi Road, Changning District, Shanghai 201103. The Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai covers the Yangtze Delta - the largest economic region in China, consisting of Shanghai, and the provinces of Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The Yangtze Delta is one of the most populous places in the world and is leading the development towards economic prosperity in the China The Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai is committed in supporting efforts of the Government of Malaysia, and the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing to forge comprehensive strategic partnership and foster closer bilateral relations between Malaysia and China, particularly in the region of eastern China. During the visit, YB Minister had meet- ings with local authorities for mutual coopera- tion between Malaysia and China in the transport sector including maritime, aviation and rail transport, to learn from China in ex- panding infrastructure as well as integrating the use of digital technology for better efficiency and convenience. Prof. Dr. Tunku Kamarul Zaman Bin Tunku Zainol Abidin, Director of UMMC and Consul General of Malaysia in Shanghai witnessed the MoU signing cere- mony between Renji Hospital and UMMC on 17 April 2019. CMEF Featured Country Day Event Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council International Glove Seminar, Shanghai, 13 May 2019 The International Glove Seminar organized by MREPC Shanghai in conjunction with CMEF Spring 2019 was officiated by Mr. John Kasilin- gam, CEO of MRPEC and the Consul General of Malaysia in Shanghai. Approximately sixty trad- ers and distributors attended the seminar. The seminar was aimed of increasing awareness and the importance of the use of medical gloves. Official Launch of Malaysia Culture and Tourism Fair, Shanghai, 16 May 2019 The Malaysia Culture and Tourism Fair was orga- nized in collaboration with local partners to en- hance awareness on Malaysian culture and experi- ence for Chinese nationals, as well as to attract more tourists to Malaysia. Export of Whole Fruit Durian from Malaysia to China, 19 June 2019 The first consignment of frozen whole fruit durian from Malaysia to China arrived in Shanghai on 19 June 2019. The export of frozen whole durian from Malaysia to China marks the close collaboration between China and Malaysia, and paved the way forward for more frozen Malaysian durians to be imported into China.
