HIMALAYAN CAMP - II BAROT VALLEY The programme at Barot is specially develop for the adventure loving youngsters who had been to different parts of the Himalayas but missed the most beautiful part of it. Barot is situated 40 km from Joginder Nagar in a small V-Shaped valley formed by the Uhl river. Surrounded on both sides by Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas, Barot is located at an elevation of 6200 ft above the mean sea level. Across the river Uhl is the Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary, home to Ghoral, Himalayan Black Bear and a variety of pheasants. Forest around Barot is of Deodar and Himalayan Oak. ACTIVITIES: Trekking (between 6,000 ft. to 9,000 ft.), bird watching, rock climbing, rapplling, Tyrolean traverse, zip line, bridge slithering, camp fire, games, etc. ACCOMMODATION: Huts & Dormitory separate for girls & boys. Separate constructed Toilets for girls & boys. ELIGIBILITY: Open. Please Carry: Four pairs of clothes, woolen clothes, bath towel, cap, bed sheet for train use, torch (with extra batteries), sweater/jacket, sports shoes, socks, floaters / sandals, water bag with strap, cold cream and sanitary requisites. Sleeping material & dinner set will be provided at the campsite. Please carry sleeping material for non-ac train journey. All the Items mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack which is easier to carry. Please do not bring suitcases, plastic/polythene bags or any disposable items, ornaments, cell phone and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional. Cell Phones: are allowed during travelling and only inside hut/dorm. at the campsite. Mobile photography is strictly prohibited. Registration: Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs. 5000/- for Non Ac Train journey to confirm your booking. The balance payment should reach our office at least 15 days before the commencement of the journey. Reservation is done on first come first served basis. Railway reservation will depend on the availability of tickets. Certificate: A specially designed certificate will be issued to students who participate in all the activities & abide by all the Camp rules. FOOD: Wholesome and hygienic vegetarian food would be served. Jain food will be available on prior request. Essential Medical Facilities in the form of First aid would be available throughout the programme. All emergences would be treated by the nearest available doctor/medical facility. Please Submit: A Photocopy of the Photo ID proof at the time of registration and the same original Photo ID proof, seven days before departure. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original Photo ID. Please Note: Road journey in all the programmes would be in Non Ac vehicles. Disclaimer: While all care will be taken for the safety of the participants, NEEDS, or any individual connected to it would not be held responsible for any accident or any unforeseen incident. Participants will have to look after their luggage throughout the journey as well as during the camp/tour. Doctor’s certificate would be required if the participant is undergoing any medical treatment, is over-weight or above 60 years. NEEDS reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking/terminate a participant during the camp/eco-tour in event of unreasonable behaviour in such cases no refund will be given. Our Fee: is inclusive of accommodation, travelling from Vadodara/Ahmedabad (by different modes), food, service charges. All the charges are per person. Cancellation: Minimum: Rs.20% Between 30 to 15 days 50% Between 14 & 8 days 75% Last 7 days No refund *Cancellation charges will be applicable on total programme cost. DAY 2: ARRIVAL AT CHAKKIBANK/PATHANKOT AT AROUND 12.45 P.M./3.30 P.M. AND BOARD THE BUS FOR BAROT (170 KMS. 5 1/2 hrs.), ARRIVAL JOGINDER NAGAR IN THE EVENING, ALLOTMENT OF ROOMS, NIGHT STAY. DAY 3: AFTER EARLY B/F PROCEED TO BAROT CAMP (40 KMS 1 1/2 HRS.) ALLOTMENT OF TENTS, BRIEFING ABOUT DO’S & DONT’S, ORIENTATION MEETING, AFTER ACCLAMATISATION TREK(BAROT DAM)(3 hrs.). DINNER & CAMPFIRE, GO TO BED. DAY 4: WAKE UP, BREAKFAST, TREK (LAPAS WATERFALL) (4 TO 5 HRS.), AFTERNOON ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES (RIVER CROSSING), DINNER & CAMPFIRE, GO TO BED. DAY 5: WAKE UP, EARLY BREAKFAST, TREK TO CHINA PASS 5 TO 6 HRS., EVENING GAMES, DINNER, CAMPFIRE, GO TO BED. DAY 6: EARLY WAKE UP, BREAK FAST, ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES ROCK CLIMBING (JUMARING) & RAPPLING BACK TO CAMPSITE, EVENING REFRESHMENT & PROCEED TO JOGINDER NAGAR, ALLOTMENT OF ROOMS, NIGHT STAY. DAY 7: EARLY WAKE UP, PACK BREAKFAST & BOARD THE BUS FOR CHAKKI BANK/PATHANKOT , & BOARD THE TRAIN FOR VADODARA/AHMEDABAD WITH PACK LUNCH FROM CHAKKI BANK/PATHANKOT. DAY 8: ARRIVAL BACK AT VADODARA. General schedule: 06.00 a.m. : Wake up call. 07.15 a.m. : Break fast. 08.15 a.m. : Day’s activity. 01.30 p.m. : Lunch. 05.00 p.m. : Evening Refreshment. 08.15 p.m. : Dinner. 08.30 p.m. : Camp fire. 09.30 p.m. : Lights off. .
