To Migrant Speech State Champion! Elena Magana Rodriguez competed in the 8th Annual State Speech & Debate Tournament in Visalia, CA. A total of 20 migrant regions and Elena proudly represented Region 17, Ventura County. Her speeches covered topics such as lack of adequate health care, national security, and civil rights. This year she placed in the following categories: 9th Grade Spanish Prepared Speech- 1st Place and 9th Grade Extemporaneous Spanish Speech- 2nd Place Thanks to Mrs. Ramirez and Mrs. Bravo-Garcia for their support and coaching. Congrats Elena!! + All SPARC Cardinals make plans to attend the last SPARC Meeting Wednesday, 5/9 in rm. 513 during lunch. Members must attend to close out the school year. + Attention!
