Santa Paula High School Home of Cardinal Pride Welcome to our tribe February 1, 2018 Please Read and Post The library will be closed through the end of the day Friday. The library staff will be attending the California School Library Association’s annual conference. We will make every effort to respond to our emails. The Library is considered closed so, students will not incur fines Thursday and Friday. Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet this Friday in room 425 during lunch. National Honor Society meeting Friday Feb. 2 during lunch in rm. 422 Cardinals donate your change to our leukemia boxes to help fight against blood cancers. Boxes are located in teacher’s classrooms and at the front desk in the main office. Boxes will be available until February 15th. PSAT10 sign ups are next week 2/5-2/9 after school in room 126. Sophomores interested in taking the exam in March must attend a sign up session. Please see Ms. D'Angelo in the counseling office if you have any ??. Interested in Advanced Placement courses next school year? Please come to an informational meeting on Tuesday, February 6 in the Auditorium from 6-7pm. At this time you will meet AP teachers, and learn about requirements for the program and summer assignments. Want Play Softball -There will be mandatory Tryouts on Wednesday, Feb. 7- Friday – Feb. 9th, from 4:00-6:00 at Hershel Hopkins field. See below for more information. College & Career Center Seniors A number of scholarships have January 31 or February 1 deadlines, please pay attention A new scholarship newsletter will be available for pick up or on line today. Ventura College group counseling sessions can be scheduled at Main campus 525-7136 or at SP campus 525- 7136. C&C Center has the dates available, come in to see. Seniors are you Interested in a Health Care Career? Scholarships available for seniors who wish to pursue a health care education. Santa Clara Valley Wellness Foundation org. Deadline is March 9, 2018. Grad Night agreements will be available in the C&C Center. It includes Disneyland all day pass, Grad Party at California Adventure on Saturday June 9, 9 am to 4 am for $200. Payment plan available – 1st deposit is $20 to hold seat till March 27. Payments need to be completed by March 27. Payments on Mon. Wed. & Fri only. Ventura College and the Financial Aid Office will be hosting our annual Dreamers Set Your Course events. For Students needing to apply to the California Dream Act. Here is your chance for help and information. Thursday, February 1—6:00—8:00 PM—Ventura College East Campus (Santa Paula) Huge College Fair for all students make plans - On Tuesday, April 17th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Ventura County Fairgrounds there will be a National College Fair. Keep looking for scholarships that apply to you, i.e. related to your major, by association through parents work or associations giving money away. If you don’t let them know you need $, they can’t say yes. 38th Annual Santa Paula Young Writers’ Graphic Design Contest- Graphic Design Contest Open to 9th Through 12th Grades: 1st Place Prize - $30 2nd Place Prize - $15 3rd Place Prize - $8 - ENTRIES MAY BE SUBMITTED ANYTIME FROM JANUARY 15 TO MARCH 2.
