This series of In The Club sees my character Rick come out of prison. He went through a tough time last series and he’s still not 100%. He can’t believe what he has put his family through. my dad was in prison when i was younger and when he came out, he told me he’d felt so useless in there. i visited him when i was a kid and i’d forgotten who he was. That killed him. So i used some of that when playing Rick.

Being a dad is the best – and hardest – job in the world. However, i believe if you think it’s easy being a parent then you’re not doing your job properly. i miss them like mad when i’m away working. When i’m at home i do the school rrun – times like that are the times tthey’re going to remember.
