Susan was nominated for the Best Writer award at the Broadcast Young Talent Awards 2004.

Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps was Susan’s long running original sitcom which she show-ran and script edited, as well as writing at least half the episodes for almost every series. Two Pints starred Sheridan Smith, Will Mellor, Natalie Casey and Kathryn Drysdale and was produced by Jo Sargeant.

Grown-ups was Susan’s second original sitcom for BBC 3 which stars Sheridan Smith and Rob Rouse, produced by Jo Sargeant.

Susan won the Lloyds Bank Film Challenge in 1994 aged 14 with a ten minute short, Buddha’s Legs. Following this she was commissioned by Channel Four to write a half hour comedy, which was transmitted in May 1995. It was called Life’s A Bitch and starred Kathy Burke and Sean Hughes.

Also in 1995, Susan was selected by Assembly Productions/Channel Four from over 250 submissions to contribute to the Channel Four Sitcom Festival. Her play Back Door Women was directed by Charlie Hanson and featured Emma Wray and Lynn Ferguson. She was later commissioned for the 1998 Festival as well, with her sitcom School Daze.
