GENERAL INFORMATION 1． City introduction Shaoxing is located in the northeastern area of Zhejiang Province, bordering Ningbo in the east and adjacent to Hangzhou in the west. With a history for over 2,500 years and its " " profound culture, Shaoxing is honored as the Museum without Walls . It is one of the first historical and cultural cities ratified by the State Council of China. Shaoxing has been long renowned for being the town of canals, bridges, yellow wine and orchids. The venue of the World Championships is located at the Didang Lake. It covers an 2 2 area of about 2.47 km , including 1.13 km of water. Weather With its subtropical monsoon climate, Shaoxing weather is warm and moist with four dis- tinct seasons. The average annual temperature is 16.5C (61.7F). The average annual rainfall is 1438.9 millimeters (56.6 inches). During October, the temperature is comfortable and suitable for outdoor sports. How to get to Shaoxing (Host City) - Airports There are two international airports near Shaoxing: 1.Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH). It is about 30 kilometers away from Shaoxing, by car 45 minutes. (website: http://www.hzairport.com/en/ ) Shuttle from/to Xiaoshan International Airport is possible with an interval of 70 minutes, taxi is possible at 150 RMB for one-way trip. 2.Shanghai Pudong International Airport. It is about 232 kilometers away from Shaoxing, by car appr. 3 hours. (website: http://www.shanghaiairport.com/index_en.html ); Shuttle from/to Shanghai Pudong International Airport is possible with 4 shuttles every day. 3.In order to reduce travel time, we recommend you to choose in priority Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. -High-speed trains Beijing, Shanghai and other cities have direct trains to Shaoxing North Railway Station. Provisional Dates & Program 2019 ICF Canoe Marathon Masters World Championships will be held on October 14-15 at the Didang Lake in Shaoxing. Provisional schedule Date Time Activity October 12 -13 10:00 ‒ 17:00 Accreditation, Training October 14 08:30 Opening Ceremony 09:00 ‒ 17:00 Races Single classes October 15 09:00 -17:00 Races double classes and Mix *Masters detailed timetable (by age groups) will be published after the deadline of the en- tries. If there are no entries in the double, we have a morning Single races on Monday and Tuesday. 2.Course The race will take place at the Didang Lake. The start and finish line and the portage will be in the same area. 08 09 http://en.worldchampionships2019.net/ 2019 ICF Canoe Marathon Masters World Championships M 3. Rules for Marathon World Championships asters A valid Masters World Championships is held only if there at least four competitors (4) in the event. If during the course of the event some competitors drop out or do not finish, the validity of the Championships is not affected. If the above criteria not achieved seven (7) weeks before the first day of the competition (August 26th) the event will not be a World Championships. They may still be held but will have Masters World Cup classification. For the masters World Championships in Shaoxing the World Championships events will be limited to the following singles classes. Men K1, C1 Women K1, C1 Races will be paddled according to ICF Rules: -Only members of clubs or associations affiliated with an ICF National Federation have the right to participate in an international competition. -A competitor is always allowed to take part individually in an international competition, but must in each case obtain special permission from his/her National Federation. -A competitor can compete in a Masters event in the year he or she reaches the lower limit of the age category, i.e. in the 35-39 age group in the year of his or her 35th birthday. -In K2, C2 events the age of the youngest competitor will control the category in which a crew can compete. -Age group categories will commence from age 35-39 an increase upward in 5-year age intervals. Groups: 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 etc+ There is no limit of entries per country in each race. " " Each paddler is requested to fill out all the information required in the Info Form , to- gether with coaches and accompanying personnel, and send it to Shaoxing Organizing : Committee before September 2nd, 2019 (also deadline VISA request) [email protected] 11 VI.ENTRY FEE Entry fee is 50 Euros for one day racing, and 70 euro for 2 racing days, entry fee is per person. This entry fee includes: •Accreditation costs, a race packet (containing T-shirt, souvenir, etc); •Fees for the use of the venue and its facilities; ; •WiFi at the venue •Medical care at the venue; •Security service at the venue; •Supply of drinking water at specific locations at the Venue; •Insurance during the competition; ; •Access to other services and equipment at the venue •Transportation service for arrival and departure between Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Shaoxing North Railway Station and the New Century Grand Hotel. 12 http://en.worldchampionships2019.net/ VII.ACCOMMODATION AND LOGISTICAL SUPPORT 1.Accommodation The designated hotel for the masters will be New Century Grand Hotel (15 minutes drive from the venue), address: No. 278, Renmin East Road, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, China. Recognizing the concept of plain education in plateau training and improving athletes' aerobic ability, strength endurance and special skills, laying a solid foundation for the development and improvement of comprehensive athletic ability during the competition period. Altitude training refers to the purposeful and systematic organization of athletes in areas with suitable altitude and carrying out regular special sports training methods.     Olympic Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Medals & USA Results By Dan Henderson The goal of this paper is to provide the reader with a clear understanding of the history of USA Canoe/Kayak Sprint performance, and where it is trending. From the data it’s clear that the USA Team international performance has been in decline, and there’s not much farther down to go. The American Canoe Association, the National Governing Body for canoe/kayak racing in the United States, is tasked with a turnaround project to stop the decline and improve performance. I believe there’s a set of solutions and that those of us within the sport now can find it: that we can provide the opportunities for American youth to prepare for and successfully compete with the best in the world, that given the opportunity many American youth will step up to the challenge and prepare and compete. Fundamental is that national leadership initiate a discussion involving all stakeholders as to what is to be accomplished, and how to develop performance based structures and programs, to build an attitude of confidence and high expectations to move our nation’s performance forward in a positive direction. It is my hope that this paper will initiate that discussion. Les ob- jectifs généraux du développement social de la Chine d’ici 2020 sont les suivants : accélérer le développement des œuvres sociales, améliorer la vie du peuple ; assurer le plein-emploi ; harmoniser le développement régional ; établir un système de protection sociale couvrant les habitants urbains et ruraux pour que tout le monde puisse jouir d’une garantie des moyens d’existence ; mettre en forme un système rationnel et ordonné concernant la répartition des revenus pour que les person- nes ayant un revenu moyen représentent la majorité, que la pauvreté absolue soit éliminée, que tout le monde puisse jouir des services médicaux de base, et que le système de gestion sociale soit perfectionné.
