TABMA TRAINING MOVING ONLINE TABMA Training is the fastest growing division within TABMA today and has some exciting programs up for delivery later this year. We are currently evaluating e-learning platforms to drive TABMA Training into the future. With a membership covering such a large territory, we needed to find more efficient learning methods to remain competitive and to deliver an excellent service to our regional members, many of whom are our biggest training supporters. We are also working with some of our larger members (and some non-members), taking their existing training programs, re-engineering them together to build in-house, accredited programs which will take employees towards (or to complete) certificate level, formal qualifications, tailored to your business. Finally, we’re addressing the ongoing shortage of estimators and detailers in our membership with bespoke programs integrated into Certificate-level qualifications, which can dramatically speed up the time to bring new trainees to productivity. Let me or June Dunleavy know if you want to look at a program for your business.

nStyle Timber Products is known for its Iextensive, high-quality timber offer, so when the team there is excited about a new range, you know it’s something special. In this case, it’s two thermally modified wood cladding options that Wayne Hawker, general manager at Bayswood Timber (producers of InStyle Timber Products) describes as game-changing. “We’ve only just brought these new products to the market, and we’re very excited about them,” Hawker says. “They integrate seamlessly into our traditional products, but with added advantages.” The first is Ignite, a board with the “The Ignite has a fragrance to it, but not appearance of a charred shou sugi ban “People are buying on that strong charred smell that the traditional finish, but created through staining, brushing product has,” says Hawker. “And if you brush and embossing rather than charring, so it look and performance, past it, you won’t get any marks or stains on delivers all the textural and colour effect your clothes. Both Drift and Ignite are made from spruce, which has been thermally modified to create a Class 1 durability product that is highly resistant to rot and unappealing to insects, thanks to having its natural sugar content ‘cooked’ out. The process also leaves the end product less absorbent, meaning it has great dimensional stability and stands up to weathering well. Ignite has a 20-year rot resistance rating and Drift has a 25-year-plus rating. Supplies of both Ignite and Drift have recently arrived in Australia. For more details, visit www.
