Final Entries Final entries for Federation teams, including the full name,Sportident si card number and passport-size photo of each athlete and team official must be fed into the on-line entry form on the ЕOC2010 on-line registration system – http://eoc2010.bgorienteering.com/login - by May 10, 2010 at the very latest.

Competition rules The competition will be organized in accordance with the IOF Competition Rules valid from 1 June 2009.

Classes and Participation Restrictions There is one class for women and one class for men. There are no age restrictions.

Competitors representing full or associate member Federations of the IOF, defined by the International Olympic Committee as belonging to the European continent, can compete in EOC. Competitors representing other full member Federations of the IOF can participate in EOC but will not be eligible for European titles, medals or diplomas.

Competitors who are representing a Federation shall have full passport-holding citizenship of the country of that Federation. A competitor may represent only one Federation during any one calendar year. A competitor may not represent more than one Federation in one World Cup series of events.

There is no limit on the number of runners and officials in a team. In the individual events a Federation may enter a maximum of 6 runners in each class. The current European Champion shall be given a wild card to enter the qualification in the next EOC in addition to the ordinary entries from his/her Federation (in which case one starting group may have three competitors from that Federation). In each individual competition, the competitors placed number 17 and better in each qualification race heat may run in the A-final; the remaining competitors run in the B-final. Competitors who start, but are not placed, in the qualification race may start before the qualified runners in the B-final but shall appear in the result list as not placed.

In the relay a Federation may enter 2 teams each consisting of 3 competitors, but only the better- placed team will count in the prize list. Incomplete teams and teams with runners from more than one Federation are not allowed. Under no circumstances may persons other than entered competitors participate in the competition. Each participating Federation shall appoint a team manager to act as a contact person between the team and the organizer. It is the team manager’s duty to see that the team receives all necessary information.

Competitors participate at their own risk. Insurance against accidents shall be the responsibility of their Federation or themselves, according to national regulations.

Anti-Doping «Think Positive - Test Negative» to keep orienteering clean. Doping is forbidden IOF Anti-Doping Rules apply, valid as of June 1, 2009. The EOC organizers are committed to do everything required to support the official anti-doping authorities to successfully and openly do their work. We strongly support all positive efforts to keep our sport clean and doping free.

Event Centre Host Town PRIMORSKO is situated on a small peninsula on the coast of Black Sea, on the foot of small mountain heights leading to the beach. Primorsko is the most northerly town in Bulgaria where citrus plants grow. The entire coast along Primorsko is full of ancient ruins. One of the famous landmarks in Primorsko is a forest reserve , where a 1‐hour boat row is available to the estuary of Ropotamo river. Some nearest villages Brashljan, Bulgari, Gramatikovo and Pismenovo are attractive for rural tourism.

Еvent center hotel Les Magnolias and International Youth Center is 50 km South of Bourgas, next to Primorsko town. International Youth Center is a Resort complex for students and youth. The complex is situated very close to 2 kilometers long sand beach. The sea water is warm and calm. The sea bottom is even. On the dunes rare, valuable plants grow. The buildings are in the shadow of huge deciduous oak trees. The sports comlpex includes: tennis courts; football stadium; volley ball, handball courts, table tennis; fitness club; a swimming pool. On open-air theatre excursions to attractive sight-seeing places are organized. IYC”Primorsko” was a sports centre hosting a couple sports events of World rang.

Accommodation Online accommodation entries will open on 01.10.2009 and a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the accommodation cost must be paid together with the entry applications or not later than by 31 January 2010. If the deposit is not received, accommodation bookings will not be made. Full accommodation payment must be done by 01.04.2010.

Category A: Hotel Les Magnolias is a small oasis of comfort and cosy, situated between beautiful sandy dunes combine with forest plants. The hotel is at a distance of 200 m. from the beach located among beautiful park surroundings. The rooms have a sofa, fridge, TV, phone, bathroom with shower or bath and WC. Internet at the lobby and café.

Category B: Houses Ropotamo and Holliday are with one room situated among century-old oak forest at a distance of 300-500 m. from the beach. Rooms are with terracotta floor, 2-3 beds, bath with shower, TV, electric pot and a large front porch.

Category C: Hotel Biser is located at a distance of 300 meters from the beach. It has 151 double rooms, 8 apartments, restaurant with 400 seats, lobby bar and Internet café. Rooms are with balcony, bath with shower, table and chairs.

Category D: Houses Kedar аre comfortable villas situated among century-old oak forest at a distance of 350 m. from the beach. Each house has three single beds, table, chairs and WC

Banquet The banquet will be in Hotel Les Magnolias on 05.06.2010 and it’s included in the accreditation fee. Additional tickets are available upon 20 euro fee. Transport During competition days: It is allowed to use own transportation for all events. The organizers will provide a detailed map how to reach the pre-start areas and arenas. Scheduled transportation will be provided by the organizer to and from EOC events (opening ceremonies, races and model events) upon request. Price 30 EUR per person for all EOC 2010 period. Check-in on online preliminary entries web-site. Get-in to Event center from airports, railway or bus stations and back: Organizers can provide transport upon request. Please contact the organizers.

Terrain Description:

Sprint: 3 types of terrain – park with flat woodland and different visibility and runability, street area and coastal terrain with sand dunes.

Long-Q Moderate to very hilly terrain from 30 to 180m altitude. Deciduous forest (Quercus and Carpinus) with different visibility and runability. About 5-8% coniferous forest (Pinus). In the area there are some parts with thorns (Paliurus aculeatus) mainly in the open areas. Poor network of paths and roads.

Middle – Q Moderately hilly and flat terrain from 30 to 140m altitude. Deciduous forest (Quercus and Carpinus) with different visibility and runability. Many distinctive trees . In the areas there are parts with thorns (Paliurus aculeatus) mainly in the open areas. Good network of paths and roads.

Relay Moderately hilly terrain from 30 to 110m altitude. Deciduous forest (Quercus and Carpinus) with different visibility and runability. Many distinctive trees. Some parts with thorns (Paliurus aculeatus) mainly in the open areas. Good network of paths and roads.

Middle – Final Moderately hilly terrain from 80-180 meters with lots of small objects. Some stone passages with boulders and cliffs. Deciduous forest (Quercus and Carpinus) with different visibility and runability. About 5% coniferous forest (Pinus). In the area there are some parts with thorns (Paliurus aculeatus) mainly in the open areas. Poor network of paths and roads.

Clothes There are no regulations about clothing. The organizers recommend full-body covered dresses for all races except sprint.

Punching and timing systems The punching system in all EOC 2010 competitions will be SPORTident. The organizers will offer free of charge SPORTident card 9 to competitors who need. Please give your numbers of SI-card online togehter with the names. Light –beam system will be used at the finish but the running times will be rounded down to whole seconds in all races.

Start Draws The start draws will be made according to the IOF competition rules (section 12) under the supervision of the IOF Senior Event Adviser, with IOF approved software. The draws will not be open to team officials, athletes or the public.

Team Officials’ Meetings The Team Officials’ Meetings will be held at the WOC Village as indicated in the official programme. Only accredited Team Officials and invited guests (IOF officials, organisers) have access to the Team Officials’ Meetings. At the Team Officials’ Meetings the number bibs and further official information will be distributed to the teams. The material will be available 15 minutes prior to the opening of the Team Officials’ Meetings.

Weather and Climate In May daytime temperatures are from 16 to 28 Celsius. During the night between 12 and 17 Celsius. The temperature of Sea water is about 18-22 Celsius. Entries, Fees for Media Services No accreditation fee. Internet access is provided in the Event Centre. Those who wants internet at the finish arenas shall order it upon 20 euro fee.
