Creating a place that brings together our community, every year, in a physical sense is an exciting aspect of the festival for me. The theme of metamorphosis is an interesting choice, especially as I’ve observed and been a part of the development of the members in the community and The Smalls as a company. It’s an exciting prospect to be able to overlook the forward moving transformation of the filmmakers that we support and the medium we celebrate. David Pugh-Jones COMMERCIAL & BRAND STRATEGY DIRECTOR [email protected] With this being my first year as part of The Smalls I’m incredibly excited to see the diverse breadth of talented filmmakers’ work during the festival. This array of talent enables us to share and drive a seismic change in the way that film work is crafted, sourced and produced with outstanding results. The film festival is uniquely primed to meet the industry’s insatiable demand for award-winning and authentically produced content. Kate Fagan HEAD OF PRODUCTION [email protected] This year The Smalls has been making some of its most exciting content to date. We travelled to Rajasthan to create a documentary on an ancient step well, went to New York with Vodafone, back to Madrid to create a short profile doc for Boots, and were on hand to cover the best moments from the 2016 Rio Olympics for Deliveroo. As the festival symbolises yet another year passing, we’re looking forward to the year ahead with some exciting projects on the horizon including the launch of our new site and a big campaign for a major film release. Best of luck to all the finalists! Aleks Dimitrijevic FESTIVAL PRODUCER Festival Venue [email protected] Hackney House Joining The Smalls festival in its 11th cycle has been an exciting challenge.
