I would like to congratulate Sanaye Giti Pasand who managed to bring Iranian futsal back into the limelight with their all-round performance by lifting the coveted trophy. Similar to football, clubs are the backbone of the national futsal sides and the Member Associations involved in the AFC Futsal Club Championship have been working hard to improve their domestic futsal leagues. The performances in this competition provided ample proof of the efforts exerted by our Member Associations to raise the level of futsal in their regions. And, to lend a helping hand to these efforts in improving the game from the technical perspective, AFC deployed a team of technical experts to analyse the matches in Kuwait City. This technical report is the outcome of the analyses and should prove to be useful in further developing the players, coaches, instructors and educators, based on solid and accurate data collected during the tournament. I would like to thank everyone involved in this competition, including the Kuwait Football Association, the Local Organising Committee, players, coaches, referees, fans and sponsors for their role in making this edition a memorable one. Sincerely, Zhang Jilong AFC Acting President FIFA Executive Committee member GENERAL ● HOST CITY INFORMATION - KUWAIT CITY 6 AFC FUTSAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP KUWAIT 2012 General • Host City Information • Tournament Overview 7 GENERAL ● HOST CITY INFORMATION - KUWAIT CITY Country: Kuwait Population: 3,566,437 (as of 2010) Summer temperatures range from 38 to 46 degrees Celsius (100 to Capital: Kuwait City 115 degrees Fahrenheit).
