  • Feast Your Famine
Feast Your Famine: a watch-and-play is an interactive five-night performance-and-social-action hybrid event, re-envisioning the legacy of the "hero" in Western culture from medieval knights to today and seeking to practice new realities in community. With possibilities for multi-day game play or a single night's experience, audiences can join a diverse body of artists and activists in a journey of boundary crossing, soul-troubling, and action through both avant garde and traditional performances and social-action events -- set inside the framework of a re-imagined medieval feast. For details on the schedule and the presenters, please visit the Feast Your Famine website and follow the event on Instagram @feastyourfamine. This event is a result of Wistaria Project's Re-Residency, in which we "re-gift" the Performing Artist Residency we received from The Center at West Park to an exciting diversity of performers and activists. Each Re-Resident will present their work on one night of the festival. The Re-Resident Cohort has worked together to devise First Night and Last Night -- the opening and closing of the feast -- with interactive, hybrid performance/events to bring us together to imagine, engage, and take action here and now. • Historic Lower Manhattan
Historic Lower Manhattan To many people Lower Manhattan means financial district, where the large buildings are designed to facilitate the exchange of money. The buildings, streets and open spaces, however, recall events that gave birth to a nation and have helped shape the destiny of western civilization. Places such as St. Paul's Chapel and Federal Hall National Memorial exemplify a number of sites which have been awarded special status by the Federal Government. The sites appearing in this guide are included in the following programs which have given them public recognition and helped to assure their survival. National Park Service Since its inauguration in 1916, the National Park Service has been dedicated to the preservation and management of our country's unique national, historical and recreational areas. The first national park in the world—Yellowstone—has been followed by the addition of over 300 sites in the 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. National Park areas near and in Manhattan are: Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site, Fire Island National Seashore, Gateway National Recreation Area, Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, Hamilton Grange National Memorial, and General Grant National Memorial. National Historic Landmarks National Park Service historians study and evaluate historic properties throughout the country. Acting upon their findings the Secretary of the Interior may declare the properties eligible for designation as National National Parks are staffed by Park Rangers who can provide information As the Nation's principal conservation agency, the Department of the Historic Landmarks. • €˜Better Call Saul,€™ €˜Lodge 49€™ Get Premiere Dates, Photos
‘Better Call Saul,’ ‘Lodge 49’ Get Premiere Dates, Photos 06.01.2018 AMC revealed first-look photos for season four of Better Call Saul, as well as first-look photos for new series Lodge 49, which will debut immediately after the return of the Breaking Bad prequel. Better Call Saul will premiere August 6 at 9 p.m., followed by Lodge 49 at 10 p.m. "Monday nights have become a destination for our character-driven dramas, and we loved the idea of pairing these two series, which are similar in their darkly comedic tone and led by two charming yet complicated characters facing huge life moments," said David Madden, president of original programming for AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. Better Call Saul follows the transformation of corporate attorney Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) into sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman, which is catalyzed by the death of his brother Chuck (Michael McKean) in season three. In the wake of his loss, Jimmy takes steps into the criminal world that will put his future as a lawyer - and his relationship with Kim (Rhea Seehorn) - in jeopardy. Chuck's death also deeply affects former colleagues Howard (Patrick Fabian) and Kim as well, putting the two of them once again on opposite sides of a battle sparked by the McGill brothers. Meanwhile, Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) takes a more active role as Madrigal Ehrmantraut's (Jonathan Banks) newest (and most thorough) security consultant. It's a volatile time to be in the employ Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), as Hector's (Mark Margolis) collapse sends shock waves throughout the Albuquerque underworld and throws the cartel into chaos - tearing apart both Gus and Nacho's (Michael Mando) well-laid plans.

Early last century, industrial piers stretched up the Hudson River from the Battery to the Upper West Side. Most respectable New Yorkers shied away from the working waterfront and therefore lived toward the middle of the island. But in today’s postindustrial Manhattan, the West Side is a highly desirable—and expensive— place, home to residential developments catering to the well-to-do who want to live close to the waterfront and its now recreational piers.

  • Short Communication Health and Nutrition Content Claims on Australian Fast-Food Websites
Public Health Nutrition: 20(4), 571–577 doi:10.1017/S1368980016002561 Short Communication Health and nutrition content claims on Australian fast-food websites Lyndal Wellard1,*, Alexandra Koukoumas2, Wendy L Watson1 and Clare Hughes1 1Cancer Programs Division, Cancer Council NSW, 153 Dowling St, Woolloomooloo, NSW 2011, Australia: 2Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences, University of Wollongong, Wollongong, NSW, Australia Submitted 17 March 2016: Final revision received 3 August 2016: Accepted 15 August 2016: First published online 17 October 2016 Abstract Objective: To determine the extent that Australian fast-food websites contain nutrition content and health claims, and whether these claims are compliant with the new provisions of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (‘the Code’). Design: Systematic content analysis of all web pages to identify nutrition content and health claims. Nutrition information panels were used to determine whether products with claims met Nutrient Profiling Scoring Criteria (NPSC) and qualifying criteria, and to compare them with the Code to determine compliance. Setting: Australian websites of forty-four fast-food chains including meals, bakery, ice cream, beverage and salad chains. Subjects: Any products marketed on the websites using health or nutrition content claims. Results: Of the forty-four fast-food websites, twenty (45 %) had at least one claim. A total of 2094 claims were identified on 371 products, including 1515 nutrition content (72 %) and 579 health claims (28 %). Five fast-food products with health (5 %) and 157 products with nutrition content claims (43 %) did not meet the requirements of the Code to allow them to carry such claims. Conclusions: New provisions in the Code came into effect in January 2016 after a 3-year transition.
