€˜Better Call Saul,€™ €˜Lodge 49€™ Get Premiere Dates, Photos ‘Better Call Saul,’ ‘Lodge 49’ Get Premiere Dates, Photos 06.01.2018 AMC revealed first-look photos for season four of Better Call Saul, as well as first-look photos for new series Lodge 49, which will debut immediately after the return of the Breaking Bad prequel. Better Call Saul will premiere August 6 at 9 p.m., followed by Lodge 49 at 10 p.m. "Monday nights have become a destination for our character-driven dramas, and we loved the idea of pairing these two series, which are similar in their darkly comedic tone and led by two charming yet complicated characters facing huge life moments," said David Madden, president of original programming for AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. Better Call Saul follows the transformation of corporate attorney Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) into sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman, which is catalyzed by the death of his brother Chuck (Michael McKean) in season three. In the wake of his loss, Jimmy takes steps into the criminal world that will put his future as a lawyer - and his relationship with Kim (Rhea Seehorn) - in jeopardy. Chuck's death also deeply affects former colleagues Howard (Patrick Fabian) and Kim as well, putting the two of them once again on opposite sides of a battle sparked by the McGill brothers. Meanwhile, Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) takes a more active role as Madrigal Ehrmantraut's (Jonathan Banks) newest (and most thorough) security consultant. It's a volatile time to be in the employ Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), as Hector's (Mark Margolis) collapse sends shock waves throughout the Albuquerque underworld and throws the cartel into chaos - tearing apart both Gus and Nacho's (Michael Mando) well-laid plans. While Gus changes course, Nacho finds himself in the crosshairs of deadly forces. Better Call Saul is executive produced by Peter Gould, Vince Gilligan, also the creators, along with Mark Johnson, Melissa Bernstein, Thomas Schnauz and Gennifer Hutchison. Lodge 49 is a light-hearted, endearing modern fable set in Long Beach, Calif. about a disarmingly optimistic local ex-surfer, Dud (Russell), who's drifting after the death of his father and collapse of the family business. Dud serendipitously finds himself on the doorstep of a rundown fraternal lodge, where a middle-aged plumbing salesman and "Luminous Knight" of the order, Ernie (Jennings), welcomes him into a world of cheap beer, easy camaraderie and the promise of alchemical mysteries that may - or may not - put Dud on the path to recover the idyllic life he's lost. Jim Gavin (Author, Middle Men) serves as creator, writer, and executive-producer alongside showrunner Peter Ocko (Pushing Daisies, The Office). Additional executive producers include Paul Giamatti (Billions, Sideways, Outsiders, Hoke), Dan Carey (Outsiders, Hoke, John Dies at the End, All Is Bright) and Jeff Freilich (Halt and Catch Fire, Grace and Frankie). AMC will promote both series at ATX Television Festival from June 7-10 in Austin, Texas. "We're excited to share the next chapter in Jimmy McGill's journey towards Saul on one of television's most celebrated shows, and to introduce viewers to the unfailingly optimistic underdog Dud, who's looking for his place and his moral purpose in a cynical and confusing world," Madden said..

  • Mike Ehrmantraut and the Profound Power of Silence
Mike Ehrmantraut and The Profound Power of Silence We find a case of polar opposites in Better Call Saul, where two characters have sharply contrasting speaking styles. The character of Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) is a chatterbox. The way the writers get Jimmy’s personality to pop and stand out is to put him in a room with somebody who doesn’t use words. In this example, that’s Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a man of such few words that he speaks only when absolutely necessary. He doesn’t even have a lot of facial expressions or body language; instead he is a blank slate and we have no idea what he’s thinking. He’s completely poker faced and plays everything straight. And then, when he does take an action, it’s decisive. He doesn’t equivocate or waffle. In fact, he’s the opposite of Jimmy in just about every possible way. It was ingenious of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould to give Mike a prominent role in Better Call Saul and Jimmy’s backstory, because we have the opportunity to learn a lot more about this laconic character. In this particular scene, Mike is called in and arrested. Two cops, one playing good cop, the other bad, !1 interrogate him. They try to work Mike and get him to crack, but in the entire scene, all Mike says is one word. INT. POLICE STATION – INTERVIEW ROOM – PRESENT DAY PRESENT-DAY MIKE in answering profile, dressed as he was at the end of episode 105. ABBASI (O.S.) Don’t know why we had to do it this way..

AMC’s The Walking Dead Invades Gods of Boom Game Insight’s mobile FPS Gods of Boom to Deliver a Themed Collaboration with AMC’s The Walking Dead Timed to the Mid-Season Premiere of Season 10 February 20th 2020 — To celebrate the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead Season 10 this Sunday, February 23 on AMC, the network and Game Insight’s mobile game Gods of Boom are releasing a TWD-themed update. This unique integration will allow players to experience the action and excitement of GOB’s mobile first-person shooter gameplay in the setting of The Walking Dead universe. Starting today, players will fight their way through a seemingly abandoned settlement, slaying herds of walkers as well as Whisperers -- the formidable faction from the current season of the series. In-mission, players can also arm themselves with iconic weapons from the TV show, like Daryl’s trusty crossbow, Rick’s revolver and Negan’s infamous barbed-wire bat, “Lucille.” What’s more, and for the first time ever, Gods of Boom will be adding a new, limited-time only, full character skin to the game: walker hunter extraordinaire Daryl Dixon, as portrayed by Norman Reedus, whose likeness has been painstakingly recreated for the game. A Truly Authentic The Walking Dead Experience: Gods of Boom, the winner of several mobile game awards, is known for its fun, engaging, and tactical gameplay. Combining this with the AMC series’ thrilling atmosphere results in a unique and visceral experience for players; that of prowling the walker-filled streets of a ruined city, vigilant against threats both alive and dead.

  • Writing in Grey Joseph Schwartze UCCS Honors Program
Writing in Grey Joseph Schwartze UCCS Honors Program A Darker World The stories in this section look at the darker parts of our world. Fantasy is unnecessary to see depictions of true evil; it exists in day to day life. The mind does not have to warp itself in perverted defense mechanisms to see darkness in our average lives. These stories examine the consequences of the bad events in our world, from the lasting effects on a single person to the terrible choices some people are forced to make. We do not always know the darkness that surrounds us; only an unremarkable symbol might be the reminder. Other times, the darkness around us can be from our own choices, our own accomplishments, and we must live with that stink forever. These stories explore the grey in our world and how the black and white can mix into unfortunate realities. Choices in the Dark Clarissa took the shot, and she savored the burning sensation in her throat. She needed it, the pain. She needed the numbness that followed even more. Her eyes closed, and when she opened them, some 20-something college boy sat next to her. He was dressed like a preppy frat boy, with his khakis and a light blue polo shirt. She knew the drill. A pretty smile painted her features, and she leaned against the counter while she waited for him to say something. A quick adjustment and her dark red, revealing dress showed off more of her thighs and cleavage. “Can I buy you a drink?” he asked confidently.
