TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2015 Ireland clinch historic victory over Windies NELSON: Ireland caused the first upset of the World Cup when an audacious 92 by Paul Stirling paved the way for a four-wicket win over the West Indies at Nelson’s Saxton Oval yester- day. Stirling stood in a match-defining 106-run stand with Ed Joyce for the second wicket as Ireland chased down a 305-run target with 25 balls to spare. Stirling cracked his 92 off 84 balls, Joyce scored 84 off 67 and Niall O’Brien chimed in with an unbeaten 79 off 60 deliveries. It was Ireland’s SCOREBOARD first win over the West Indies in six official matches and the first victory at this World Cup NELSON, New Zealand: Complete scoreboard in the World Cup Pool B match between West Indies and achieved by a team batting second. Agenda Held at The Bennett Hotel , 146 Denison Street , Hamilton , on Monday 2nd June 2014 Commencing 7pm 1. Apologies 2. Previous Minutes 2013 AGM 3. Annual Reports 4. Financial Audits 5. Positions declared vacant 6. Election of Positions – nominations and voting President Senior Vice President Treasurer Secretary General Committee 7. General Business President's Report It is with great pleasure that I present the President’s Report for the 2013/2014 season. Season 13/14 was another successful one for the Club. A Club Championship, all teams( bar one) reaching Semi-Finals and managing to win some silverware from all three cricket associations in Newcastle goes some way to show the great effort that was put in by all our players. Following on from last season’s success in the NJCA competitions we once again took out the Club Championship; back to back wins is an outstanding achievement. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, managers and parents involved. The 4th grade team came first in the NDCA competition and the D1 side won their final in the C&S competition. Special mention goes to the very talented Will Davis on winning the NJCA Player of the Year award; also to Michael Wilkinson on winning the NDCA 3rd grade bowling award. The Milo In2Cricket program was again a huge success; our thanks to Tom Anderson and all who were involved with it. The two English imports, Mitch Claydon and Alexei Kervezee, made great contributions on the field for the 1st grade side and helped lift them from last to fifth on the ladder.

Over the past seventeen years this format has grown leaps and bounds and is very keenly watched by all stakeholders involved with the game. The popularity and the growth of T20 has led to cricket boards taking this format with uttermost seriousness and every major cricket playing nation has its own international team and domestic league. Over the past seventeen years the strategies involved in succeeding in this format have also evolved and teams at the international, franchise and domestic level are trying to evolve their playbook to gain a comparative advantage. Seventeen years since T20 cricket started, preparation for matches globally have changed from casual chats in team meetings. For coaches and captains, dossiers of 25 pages are common; these dissect the opponent's strengths and weaknesses, suggest set-plays, which are the optimum ways that a bowler can set up a batsman, and explain the best parts of the ground to target and which end might suit each bowler best This research paper will delve into a potential winning strategy for a T20 side.

Much like the UN, the ICC brings representatives from all cricket-playing countries together to make administrative decisions about the future of cricket. Unlike the UN, however, not all countries have an equal input; the ICC decides which members are worthy of “Test” status (Full Members), and which are not (Associate Members). While the Council has experienced many successes, including hosting the prestigious World Cup and promoting cricket at a grassroots level, it also continues to receive its fair share of criticism, predominantly regarding the ICC’s perceived obstruction of the growth of the game within non- traditionally cricketing nations and prioritizing the commercialization of the sport over globalizing it.

WE PLAYED MORE CRICKET THAN THIS GENERATION NEW DELHI, MONDAY 18 MARCH 2019 There is a feeling in cricketing fraternity that a choc-a-bloc international calender comprising three formats leave youngsters with very little time to work on their game.
