A printed version of the ASV can be obtained from Starbible.com. We have departed from the ASV only in the name Jehovah and Lord Jehovah which we replaced with Lord and Lord God, respectively. Neither represents the original YHWH but Lord is less confusing to many and we did not want this to distract from the teaching. We desire to make this book free on our part because Jesus said, “Freely you have received, freely give,” but the business of publishing does not lend itself to that. I thank Him also that His continued grace will grant you to understand this work and benefit from it. Please ask God and agree with me to this end. I would like to give thanks to God for April Fields. She worked tire- lessly at her own expense to bring Sovereign God to print. She also designed this cover. God bless her and save her. I thank God for Doris and Kaile Hamilton who worked so hard to edit, format, and get this latest edition to the brethren. I thank God for Bill Rowe who bought a transcribing machine and put in long hours at his own expense to transcribe many teaching cas- settes on the Sovereignty of God. These were the foundation for this book. He did it for the love of you the reader. God bless him. I thank God for my friend Doug McDuffee who prodded me for a couple of years to make a book from those cassettes. At the time I was not impressed to do it. Then, when in a moment of time I became im- pressed, I saw Doug’s efforts as confirmation of God’s will. I thank God for the brothers and sisters who have contributed toward the publishing of this book. I will not reveal your names “that thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.” I thank God for my son Justin, who helped me day and night with his computer skills. God prepared him just in time to help me with this book. God bless him. I thank God for my wife Mary, who worked tire- lessly on the galley. Please pray for her and my children that they will be vessels of honor. God bless JoAnn Booker, Dwora Jawer, and Brad Moyers who proof- read the manuscript for the love of you the reader. And last but not least, God bless Jamie Hughs for formatting the manuscript. Your servant in Christ, David Eells iv TABLE OF CONTENTS 1. As a vessel of God, you will see that faith in God will work for you and through you for others. Included in this book are many exciting testimonies of God’s sovereignty mani- fested in power and grace. The questions on page vi and many more are answered from the Word of God. This study and experience of the sovereignty of God has born much fruit in my life in the area of rest, peace, faith, and respect for Him. Oth- ers have told me the same thing and urged me to make a book of it. This study has sharpened my fear of God and removed my fear of man’s con- spiracies by the devil. It has given me a strong sense of the awesomeness of God. I feel it is my commission to share this with anyone who has the eyes to see and the ears to hear. Knowing the purpose and omnipotence of God lays a foundation for faith in the promises that removes the struggle from it. We will see how to cooperate with God in the process of His plan and so be vessels for it. When we discuss something as controversial as this we have to make sure we are based in the Scriptures, not adding or taking away. We must “contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints,” not the apostate faith of our day. The reason this subject is so controversial is because Christians as a whole tend to pick and choose verses to align with what they wish to believe. But truth can only come by accepting and fitting them all together for “the sum of thy word is truth.” Many of the Scriptures we are going to look at have been ig- nored because they are contrary to human sentiment and reasoning, but they are there to bring us into the full knowledge of God that sets free. I realize that I am writing to a cross-section of Christianity and you may see some things that you cannot accept. However, I am sure that if you will not throw the baby out with the bath water, you will see things that will change your life. If you will read this book slowly and prayer- fully, I am sure God will bless you. • Power of the Proverbs
POWERINTHEPROVERBS The purpose of this handout is to help you work through the book of Proverbs in one month. This is a devotional that you can do one month per year or do every month. For millennia, the book of Proverbs has proved to be a fount of wisdom for God’s people. One does not have to have a seminary degree or many years of Biblical training to understand the book of Proverbs. For example, Proverbs 25: 17 says “Seldom set foot in your neighbor’s house, Lest he become weary of you and hate you.” Now where can you get that type of wise sage advice in the modern world? Proverbs is written by the wisest man that ever lived, Solomon. In 1 Kings 3: 13 God tells Solomon, “Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.” (ESV) If the wisest person ever known were to offer you free advice, would you at least listen to it? Here is someone who has tried and done nearly anything and everything possible (read Ecclesiastes). His insights not only represent God-given wisdom but are topped with the clarity that comes from living in a very real world. Instead of reading the latest self-help book why not read from wisdom that is God-given and has stood the test of time? When reading Proverbs remember that not all of the book contains short, concise statements. Proverbs 1:1-7 discusses the value of wisdom, and then chapters one through nine praise wisdom and talk about how to get it and live it.

Sermon Delivered….JAN 26, 2020 POWERFUL WORDS “What is the Tongue?” (Proverbs 18:21) OPENING A. ILLUSTRATION 1. Here’s our clues: it is a small thing but boasts of great things. It’s a small fire but can set the whole forest ablaze. No human can tame it. It directs our entire life. It’s a restless evil full of poison. With it we bless God and with it we curse people. Answer: The tongue. 2. Perhaps you have heard of the fable of the king and the menu? A king once asked his cook to prepare for him the best dish in the world, and he was served a dish of tongue. The king then asked for the worst dish in the world, and again was served the tongue. “Why do you serve the same food as both the best and the worst?” the perplexed monarch asked. “Because, your majesty,” the cook replied, “the tongue is the best of things when used wisely and lovingly, but it is the worst of things when used carelessly and unkindly.” Death and life are in the power of the tongue! B. SERMON IDEA 1. “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.” Is this true? • Words have more power than sticks and stones. o “I love you” “I hate you” o “I’m so proud of you” “You will never amount to anything” o “I have a dream” “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” o ‘Semper Fi” “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men were created equal.” o “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.” o “For whosoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 2.

We have departed from the ASV only in the name Jehovah and Lord Je- hovah which we replaced with Lord and Lord God, respectively. Neither represents the original YHWH but Lord is less confusing to many and we did not want this to distract from the teaching. Numerics is a system designed into the Bible by God to prove authentic- ity. The Greeks and Hebrews used their letters for numbers. Therefore, the whole Bible is also written in numbers which show perfect patterns as long as the God-inspired original words are not departed from. It mathemati- cally proves the original text and where it has been added to or taken away from. The Numeric English New Testament (NENT) is based on the nu- meric pattern and is quoted from when necessary. • 10 Keys to Healthy Relationships
10 KEYS TO HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS INTRODUCTION “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (John 17:20–21) On the night in which He was betrayed, Jesus did not just pray for His nearby disciples. He was praying for those who would someday believe through their witness. That’s another way of saying Jesus was praying for us! Jesus’ prayer centered on oneness, the same kind of relational harmony that He and Father enjoy. He asked God to help us become a people of one mind with Himself and with each other. Notice the “result clause” from verse 20: “ So that the world may believe that You sent me. ” As we become a people living in harmony with Him and each other, our witness becomes credible. The world can’t help but see that Jesus is real, that He is the One who makes such unity possible. So how can we grow our oneness in Christ? God’s Word has the answer. From it, we can identify ten principles for healthy relationships. Use all ten to become a people who are an answer to Jesus prayer! As you do, you will give a watching world reason to affirm that there is no explanation for our unity except this: Jesus truly is God’s Son sent here to show us the way! Pastor Jim Fleming 1 MY COMMITMENTS As a member of the body of Christ and in complete dependence upon God, I do hereby make a solemn covenant to faithfully follow the biblical principles for promoting healthy and edifying relationships.
