Thank you for your letter of 9 March, inviting Mrs. Annan and me to attend the premiere of "The Interpreter" at the Ziegfeld Theatre on 19 April. We would very much have liked to join you on that special occasion, but unfortunately we will be unable to attend as I expect to be travelling overseas.

I nonetheless look forward to seeing the fruits of your efforts before too long. It will be a refreshing experience to see the United Nations through a dramatist's eyes.
