Alumni careers First occupation/activity after AstroMundus graduation

Subsequent careers

Alumni from earlier editions, who started a PhD as their first occupation after graduating from the AstroMundus programme have concluded their doctorate and in many cases have continued their academic career with postdoctoral research positions or as university assistants/professors/lecturers. A few alumni, after a first employment as teaching assistants or research fellows have later started a PhD. Only a few alumni have switched to a non-academic career after the PhD. Alumni of the 7th edition, who had opted for a gap year after graduation, in several cases have later started a PhD. Edition 8 alumni, who opted for a gap year are in most cases planning to continue their career in astrophysics after this initial break period.
