Please note - Sweet Charity is being presented with a profit-share (co-op) model. Artists will be paid a guaranteed honorarium based on the size of their role with a minimum of $1500 PLUS a split of any profits made from ticket sales after all costs (production, royalties, ticketing fees etc). Woodward Productions are seeking cast submissions for its exciting new season of Sweet Charity the musical. This brief is for all roles. Performers must be aged 18 or over and available on the required dates. Cast members must commit to the entire length of the show.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Artists of all cultural ethnicities and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Self-tapes will be accepted for any artists currently out of state or who are living out of state, but please note Woodward Productions are looking for Brisbane based artists or artists who are able to base themselves in Brisbane for rehearsals and the run of the shows.
We are looking for DANCERS who can sing and act.
We are looking for SINGER/ACTORS who can move very well.
All auditionees will be required to dance first. If you are successful, you will be required to provide two 45 - 90 second cuts of songs similar to the style of the show (one upbeat, one ballad). Please do not bring anything longer.

CHARITY HOPE VALENTINE This role is being played by Naomi Price.
OSCAR LINDQUIST Shy, obsessive, and neurotic, Oscar is the perfect foil to the free-spirited Charity, and he is her romantic counterpart. Playing 35+ Baritone to an F4. Lose Move. Actor/Singer Role.
DADDY BRUBECK Enigmatic Hippie leader of the Rhythm of Life Church. Oozes charisma. Baritone. C3 to E4. Mover. We are seeking a BIPOC performer for this role who is male or female-identifying.
NICKIE Charity’s friend at the Fandango, a little bit motherly, she’s been there, dreams of getting out of the taxi dancer business. Playing 35+ Must sing and dance extremely well.
HELENE Charity’s friend at the Fandango Ballroom, a follower more than a leader, not as sure of herself as Nickie, and not as optimistic as Charity. Must dance and sing extremely well.
VITTORIO VIDAL/ENSEMBLE A suave European movie star more keen on selling his image than finding true love, Vittorio allows Charity to run rampant in his apartment, before hiding her away when his real love arrives. Baritone. B2 to F4. Must have a strong crooner sound.
HERMAN/ENSEMBLE The authoritarian owner of the Fandango Ballroom - Tough, dry, and working-class, with a sentimental side. Tenor. E3 to B4.
URSULA MARCH/ENSEMBLE Vittorio's jealous lover. Spoken.
ROSIE/ENSEMBLE The newest Taxi dancer at the Fandango Ballroom. Shy, a bit naive, but ready to learn. Belter. A3 to A#4. CHARACTER NOTES
