ADELVÂNIO FRANCISCO MORATO - FBH’S PRESIDENT

“In a country with so many difficulties, we want to be heard, to be respected by everyone, in defense of large, medium and small Brazilian hospitals”

The new Brazilian Hospitals Federation (FBH) president, Adelvânio Francisco Morato, 58, is a physician, urologist surgeon, graduated from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) and postgraduate in Administration and Cooperativism. He was the secretary-general of the Medical Association of Goiás (AMG) and member of the Union of Hospitals of the state. Currently, he is one of the partners of the Instituto do Rim de Goiânia (IRG).

Morato is in his third term as the head of the Hospitals Association of Goiás State (AHEG), position that he accumulates with the FBH presidency for the triennium 2019-2021. In an interview for the Hospital Vision, the new FBH president talks about the challenges and priorities of his mandate for the next three years, the importance of the publications released by the entity this year (“Hospital Scenario in Brazil” and “Hospital Manager’s Manual” ) and expectations with the 13th Brazilian Hospitals Convention (13th CBH). UNIFIED HEALTH DATA THE DATAOPERA PLATFORM

THE PROBLEM THE BENEFITS There are several computerized health systems. They Once the patients’ clinical information is all gathered work with a certain efficiency in the management of in a single repository, it is possible to create a hospitals, clinics, offices, laboratories, health plans, precious Collaborative Health Network. With this, etc. The big problem is that the information for a service providers will have access to the patient’s particular patient is completely fragmented. This medical histories, regardless of where they were prevents a complete view of his health and generates treated, besides using BI or IA algorithms that can be additional costs, such as duplicate request for exams. efficiently applied to strategic decisions of all actors This decentralization of information also makes it for this health segment. impossible to make strategic decisions of the other actors in the health area.

THE SOLUTION The natural way to address these issues is to centralize the health data. Although it seems like a simple idea, there are several obstacles to overcome. One of these difficulties is interacting with several systems that do not “speak the same language”. Another sensitive issue is maintaining the privacy of this data. In addition, patient consent is required for the collection and availability of such data.

According to him, the meeting proposal was to discuss strategies of how to engage health professionals within an organizational project, to awaken leadership in the work environment, and to provide a secure path to achieve sustainable results for the organization.

Leonardo Gigliotti Barberes, Brazilian Hospitals Federation (FBH) Fiscal Council member, was invited to join the solemn opening table of the event, highlighting the technological advancement scenario that humanity is experiencing, and finds, in the Health Sector, an emblematic example. For him, this technological evolution is useless if it is not accompanied by human qualification.

“The technological incorporation in health is a reality that increasingly finds spaces in the sector, in fact within our lives as a whole. However, we must never forget that the true differential in obtaining results is in the professional’s performance. Human capital, without a doubt, is the greatest asset of an institution, and certainly the most positive results are linked to it, since health care still needs people who treat people. And that is one of this meeting objectives, to discuss the leadership, how to motivate the workers, how to make them act in the best way towards the qualification of the service, “stressed Leonardo Barberes.

SPEECHES The meeting’s agenda included four lectures on various topics, such as “The secret of the best companies to work for” and “Internal communication: image’s reflection and health institution results”. The lecture “Using the skills of every team to achieve high performance”, promoted by the directors of the Brazilian Institute for Health Excellence (IBES), Christian Hart and Rafael Munerato, and Santa Izabel Hospital’s technical director, Ricardo Madureira, was one of the greatest debate moments during the meeting. The directors presented the discussion about leadership and engagement importance of the entire team in the production process and in the achievement of positive results for the health unit.
