Stimpson Family Nature Preserve - Fungi & Slime molds observed since 1991 Originally entitled, "Macrofungi - Beaver Creek Conservation Area" This is from an on- going phenological inventory conducted by members of Northwest Mushroomers. Sampling has been throughout the Stimpson with most at the west most area of the property, to the north and south of the beaver pond. Some sampling from the Sudden Valley entrance trail and further back along the main loop trail. Names in () are some of the older names once used for a species. Names at end in "" are commonly accepted common names. Species names in quotes are broad species concepts. "sp." = one unknown species. "spp." = several unknown species. Species numbers and names are as of the beginning of 2019. Note: Collecting mushrooms or other biota in the Stimpson preserve is not allowed for other than scientific purposes. For the purposes of the MycoFlora project, record the presence of observations on iNaturalist. Only collect those things that need further microscopic study or that will be added to the project under the direction of the project leader. Contact Fred Rhoades for further information: see Contact page at Northwest Mushroomers Association website.
