Club hosts ‘glow-in-the-dark’ event for a national charity South Redditch Sports & Social Club held a special ‘glow-in-the-dark’ charity music event on July 27. The family-friendly event was organised by a group of teenagers who are part of the National Citizenship Service – a government scheme which aims to get young people involved with their local South East Metropolitan Branch Executive Committee Member Frank Wilde was presented with his and10-year certificate by Union Vice-President John Tobin (fourth from left). Also present were Branch communities. Sky Sports announces live Football League fixtures Sky Sports has announced its live Football League schedule up until Wednesday, October 24. In total 17 games from the Sky Bet Championship and Sky Bet League One will take place in front of the cameras with Aston Villa, Leeds United and Derby County all featuring. Highlights throughout September include the Midlands Derby between Birmingham City and West Bromwich on Friday, September 14, before Swansea take on Stoke City four days later on Tuesday, September 18. Another notable clash sees Leeds United travel to Sheffield Wednesday on Friday, September 28. Harehills Labour Club celebrates CIU National Snooker Finals victories

e Richmond Place Club in Hereford hosted the CIU National team and individual snooker finals in July and August. e Individual snooker final was held on July 28 and saw Jonathan Bagley of Harehills Labour Club (Leeds Branch) facing Rhydian Richards of Merthyr Tydfil Labour Club (South Wales Branch). Jonathan won by 4-2. e CIU National Team Snooker final was held on August 4 with Harehills Labour Club (Leeds Branch) taking on Abertysswg WM Club (South Wales Branch). CIU Sport/Games CIU Northern/National Angling Competition The CIU Northern/National angling competition was fished on Saturday, July 7 on the Lindholme Lakes. The Team winners were Carcroft Village club and Thornhill Briggs Club, who both garnered 293 points. The Individual Winner was D Everett of Tang Hall Club with a weight of 134.75g. A total of 99 anglers fished in the contest. Of those, 94 anglers weighed-in and the total amount of fish caught was 2183kg, 775g.
