Born and raised in Manchester, Fury weighed just 1lb at birth after being born three months premature. His father John named him after Mike Tyson. From Irish traveller heritage, the“Gypsy King” is undefeated in 28 professional fights, winning 27 with 19 knockouts, and drawing once. His most famous victory came in 2015, when he stunned longtime champion Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles. He was forced to vacate the belts because of issues with drugs, alcohol and mental health, and did not fight again for more than two years. Most thought he was done with boxing forever. Until an amazing comeback fight with Deontay Wilder in December 2018. It was an instant classic, ending in a split decision tie. Outside of the ring, Tyson Fury is a mental health ambassador. He donated his million dollar purse from the Deontay Wilder fight to the homeless. This book is dedicated to the cause of mental health awareness.

SCHEINDLIN, U.S.D.J.: I. INTRODUCTION Plaintiffs Vladimir Hrunov and Andrey Ryabinskiy are Russian boxing promoters who do business as World of Boxing ("WOB"). Defendant Don King ("King") is an American boxing promoter who does business as Don King Productions. On January 28, 2014, King and WOB entered into an Agreement In Principle ("Agreement"), in which King promised to produce Guillermo Jones ("Jones") for a bout against Denis Lebedev ("Lebedev") on April 25, 2014. 1 The See Agreement In Principle ("Agreement"), Exhibit ("Ex.") The positive drug test precluded Jones from competing, and the bout was called off. On May 28, 2014, WOB filed this suit. WOB alleges that King, by failing to produce a clean fighter, breached the Agreement.2 King makes two arguments in his defense. First, he argues that the Agreement only required him to “do everything within his control . to cause Jones’s participation”3 — because Jones’s use of furosemide was not within King’s control, it cannot be grounds for breach.

  • English Champ Ekow Essuman Joins Queensberry
ENGLISH CHAMP EKOW ESSUMAN JOINS QUEENSBERRY ENGLISH CHAMPION WELTERWEIGHT Ekow Essuman has signed a promotional agreement with Frank Warren to fight under the Queensberry Promotions banner. The former decorated amateur – who reached the Podium Squad within the Team GB set-up – has now reached 13-0 as a professional, with five of those wins coming via KO. The Nottingham man took possession of the English title in October 2018 with an impressive stoppage victory over Andy Keates before perhaps his most notable win arrived in March 2019. The redoubtable former British champion Tyrone Nurse was selected for a voluntary defence of his belt and the man known as ‘The Engine’ showed just why by edging his more experienced opponent over ten rounds. The most recent defence of the now 31-year-old came back in November at York Hall when he ventured down south to put his belt on the line against the previously unbeaten Curtis Felix Jr. Essuman inflicted a first defeat on the home fighter with an eighth round stoppage and now has the British title firmly in his sights. “I am ecstatic, really ecstatic,” said Essuman on joining forces with the Hall of Fame promoter. “I have been a pro since 2016 after missing out on the Olympic draft – even though I was on GB and fighting across the world – and I have got myself to English champion and defended against someone like Tyrone Nurse to getting myself into position for a British eliminator. “So I am thrilled to be coming on-board with Frank Warren now and he is the perfect person to take my career and showcase it to the public.
