June 18 Meeting Response This is NOT a Q&A. This is a "Read the questions and answer the ones you want to answer meeting". Why does it need to be moved? Been there 80 years as it should be in front of the Alamo. #RememberNotReimagineTheAlamo #SaveTheCenotaph Is there a place where all questions will be collected and answered? Protect the Cenotaph NOW! Keep people from crawling on it. I saw it with my own eyes. What is the city doing to protect the Cenotaph now? Don't just read the question, answer it. Who's funding this project and why? You read my question, but no answer! The street closures (Alamo, Houston, etc) traffic plan using Losoya as a two way street is absurd. It WILL NOT work. Proposing a two way street with he Its not and shouldn't be a community decision, mayor or council decision, the Alamo and Cenotaph belong to the whole of , listen to Us, we don't wan No weddings Stop serving alcohol on the Alamo grounds Use augmented reality interpretation Sorry. Shout out to Thi Alamo2018 Will you move the Cenotaph? #SavetheCenotaph I regularly drive to work on Losoya and return home on Alamo. Often, Losoya is impassable due to the delivery trucks double-parked to make their deliveries. There is currently insufficient space to move a lot of cars on the proposed two lanes on Losoya unless the street is widened, and/or a plan is put in place to protect the deliveries to our small business owners along the river walk. What is the plan to accommodate the traffic and the deliveries? Repair the Cenotaph where it stands. Let people speak! I am quite concerned with the plan to close Alamo Street. In the past twenty years, there have been many north-south streets that have been closed, or have had significant lane reduction. As a top ten sized city, we need to be cognizant that people need to be able to easily move about the city. Choosing to change Losoya to one lane in each direction is not likely to be adequate for downtown workers to easily egress the city at the end of the work day. We will build a human wall around the Alamo and Cenotaph to protect them! We are TEXANS! DON'T MOVE THE CENOTAPH DON'T MOVE THE CENOTAPH DON'T MOVE THE CENOTAPH Please do not reimagine the Alamo. Respect the Defenders and leave the war memorial and family headstone / Cenotaph Where it stands Leave the Plaza Open 24/7 no directing the visitors Why was the format changed? From verbal comments from the public to digital massaging? I request to express a serious concern about one of the objectives within the current proposed Master Plan on the topic of "Reverence and Learning" Which should be considered before proceeding and making potentially wasteful expenses of citizen tax dollars. Thank You. Ray Becerril, US Combat Veteran. #SaveTheCenotaph A bit ago, someone on facebook listed out a list issues. I responded to those with how i felt. 1: I'm okay to give reason to historical names. Either by naming Streets or walk ways. Bring back "Dorango" in the downtown area and other names returned. I'm not okay with a "name" at the entrance to the Alamo. Period flags, NO. Not ONE Name near any of the missions. 2. I'm okay with the movement of the flame. The rebuild of the SW corner and cannon display could tie into the current structures of the west wall. NO to tearing down any building directly west of the mission church. Incorporate these as apart of the story of San Antonio's growth. 9. Agree to the TOO SMALL of museum planned in the reused west buildings. Restaurants and cafes would work better, opening to the plaza. Agree to the full use of the Federal building. Keeping a portion for an commemorative post office. Fill in the light-well for more square footage. It is working through. If we have other ideas, where should we present?? How does the passing of Plank 296 at the RPT GOP convention affect the Alamo master plan? Don't Move the Cenotaph Leave it on the ground where they died

I've seen several of these presentations. All from people usually not living in our city. So,,,, As our city evolved. It grew around the Alamo. If you take down the block of buildings to the west than you take down All the buildings to the NORTH as well. But, this should not happen!! Close off Alamo most of the time! Sure!! Open it up for parades and celebrations. Close off Houston street from Broadway and Lasoya to 3rd St intersection. Create turnarounds and extra creative parking for Gibbs Building and Emily Morgan. Turn the old court house and post office into a HUGE world class museum, keep a small post office for commemorative stamps and post cards. Move Lady Birds fountain infront of the Crockett and Menger Hotels, create a roundabout and new entries for the Menger, close off e Crockett from Bonham west to Lasoya. Take the ground level down to the historical level about 100' all around the facade of the mission. KEEP the cenotaph where it is!! Keep the band stand where it is!! Make Lasoya a two way street. Keep north Alamo closed for most of the time, but for parade celebrations and events. MOVE the Fiesta Flambou Parade, That parade pays no attention to the Alamo. Have it turn down Lasoya. So Alamo Street will be closed from Commerce to Houston most of the year! Take down the none historic west/south walls along crocket st of the mission, open the park at all times! Remove the non historic north walls along Houston st. Keep the east walls due to traffic along Bonham. Make Bowie a North South thoroughfare. Our country is dotted with Spanish missions. They are historic, no doubt. Our Alamo is so much more than a mission, especially to we Texans. The Alamo do Don't move Cenotaph! Stop with the trying to destroy history and really take a look at what it stands for. You are trying to Doom the great state of Texas and it's people And And why are you gonna take more money from Texans to do your dirty work ? Who gave you the God given Right to remove anything that was paid for by the citizens of Texas ? Don't move the Cenotaph! If the cenotaph is moved as proposed, don't surround it closely with trees so the memorial disappears behind the foliage. Please leave the Alamo Cenotaph intact and in place. The visitors do not come to the Alamo to see a 'park'. They come to experience the place of an iconic event. Less trees more historic re-creation. There is plenty of park like space steps away behind the church and south on Alamo Street as well as air conditioned space in the proposed museum. Remember not reimagine the Alamo. Save the cenotaph! Don't move the cenotaph, do not white wash our Texas history. Remember not reimagine the Alamo. Save the cenotaph! Don't move the cenotaph, do not white wash our Texas history. Remember the Alamo NOT Reimagine it!!

Do Not remove The Cenotaph! Will current Riverwalk access stairs at by Losoya statue still be there? Can the cenotaph be repaired without moving it? Leave our hsitory alone! Do not allow foreigners (those not from our state) intervene in our history that they do not have knowledge of!!!! New location of the Cenotaph is great Have you planned layout to ensure no shadow falls across face of Alamo at sunset? #SAVETHECENOTAPH Put this to a statewide vote!!!!!!! Can the city of san antonio and the state of Texas secured a "deal" for the old federal building/post office once the NEW larger federal courthouse is built? Why does the cenotaph need to be moved?? Leave the Cenotaph where it is. #SAVETHECENOTAPH how many times are you going to give us the same presentation???? #SAVETHECENOTAPH Cenotaph needs to be moved to South Plaza What firm/group is the architect from Boston, MA who presented what resembled a musuem on Monday, 6/18 and today 6/19? Why was a non-Texan? Museum is too small for this huge story. You need the Federal Building. Where will new entertainment area be located for the Ripley's and other arcade type businesses that will be displaced? How is the battle interprested for visitors who come to Alamo Plaza? The majority of Texans do not want the Cenotaph moved. This was evident at the Republican Convention where 93% voted to leave the cenotaph alone, it is also evident at every city council! Alamo Advisory Meetings. There is no wiggle room. The people of Texas have spoke. Listen to them. You'll find a much warmer conversation from Texans if you leave the cenotaph where it stands today. This idea of the Boston, MA's "footprint", why don't you close all the carnival businesses across from the sacred site of the Battle of the Alamo? You are not listening leave the Cenotaph alone How can we honor Clara Driscoll, the "Savior of the Alamo," but not honor her wishes as a supporter of the construction of the Cenotaph where it was originally built? The Cenotaph is the Centerpiece NOW! It is in the CENTER of the original Alamo yard NOW! DO NOT MOVE IT OFF ALAMO GROUNDS! Doing so totally dishonors the DEFENDERS! Leave the cenotaph alone! Make no changes at all in the Alamo - do not close Alamo Street, Houston Street, Crockett Street. Keep visibility of shrine by vehicles and keep Alamo Plaza an open public space RESTORE not REIMAGINE the Alamo Are you following to the letter the expectations of the legislature to focus on the 13 day siege and battle? Or going off in your own direction? Enclose the Southwest corner with stone all around it so it sends the right message 1796 Alamo Plaza was entered into the Nation Historic Registry. Does that come into play? How do you reconcile leaving the archaeological material intact when digging to plant your illustrator's treeS? Wouldn't that disburb the archaeological material? #SAVETHECENOTAPH THIS IS TEXAS FREEDOM FORCE!! Will Alamo Rangers still be Employed? DO NOT CUT THE TREES!!!!!! Is it necessary to have that much shaded area? Trees make this feel more like a city park and not a historic Plaza. What about all the hydrology that could damage the existing structures. Rembmer, the DRT had to remove all the vegetation around the historic buildings because of rising damp I am a descendant of a defender and do not want the Cenotaph moved #rethinknirenberg This plan falls short of the historical emphasis of the Alamo story. It's not bold enough. It lacks the Spanish Colonial sense of place. Where is the signage and design for El Camino Real, one of the oldest highways in Texas? Like other missions, we come to see stone walls and the original Main Gate - where are they? Do not touch the CENOTAPH!!!! The historic site has walls NOT glass railings - I want to experience 1836 not a walk in the park! I can go to other parks for that. People come to visit and don't intend to spend their whole vacation in the Alamo only. They have other places (Missions) to visit. Making it a park like atmosphere will invite the homeless to camp there. Bushes will invite crime. LEAVE IT ALONE! Use $$ to make improvements where needed DO NOT DESTORY HERITAGE OAKS! WILL THEY BE RELOCATED? SAVE THE OAK TREES TOO! DON'T JUST CUT THEM DOWN! Happy to see that we are finally closing the streets to vehicle traffic. We need less chaoes and noise and more reverence. Alamo is ALREADY - AS IS - most visited of all sites in Texas. That tells you to leave it alone. It is genuine-real-something people resonate to. Do not move the Cenotaph - it is disrespectful to move it. The Cenotaph is our family tombstone. It should stand where the Alamo Defenders died INSIDE THE WALLS The people of Texas, the Texas Legislative Body, and the Governor will not support this Alamo Plaza Interpretive Plan when they learn it embodies many of the more of less discarded Reimagine the Alamo Master Plan. Remember the Alamo - Don't close the Plaza to the public. This so-called plan totally lacks historical impact and profoundly lacks historical passion and vision. This plan will destroy the 300 year old rich history and tradition of the open Spanish Plaza. Do NOT removed, relocate or re-imagine the CENOTAPH! Do not WHITEWASH OUR TEXAS HISTORY! This, the Alamo is the heart of Texas! This is Hallowed ground. This is a gravesite for Alamo defenders, Mexican soliders, Native Americans and other people of Texas. Scrap this plan. Save the Cenotaph. THIS IS A SACRED SHRINE AS IS THE CENOTAPH Do not reimagine. Remove Trevino from Advisory. Recall all apointed members in place by Nirenberg. Most of this plan is a deviation from the original intent of Texas House Bill 2968. It appropriated $30M to specifically recreate the entire the old Spanish Mission South Wall which also includes the Spanish Main Gate, now called the Alamo Main Gate. The intent was to transform Alamo Plaza into a historical site of deep respect and reverence not change it into a miniature version of New York City Central Park with Parisian style outdoor seating and tables in a forest of newly planted shade trees. The Cenotaph should remain in its present location. It was designed by Coppini for that location and should not be moved. Don't "reinterpret" Texas history!! OPEN HOUSTON STREET This would be an illegal open public hearing. Presentation then questions to public is not legal. The most important part of this plan is the closing of Alamo Street. This must be done immediately. There are no other historical sites that allow daily traffic to freely drive over a battlefield of the magnitude of the Alamo Battlefield. Alamo Plaza is the Alamo Battlefield. This is an opportunity for both the Alamo and Epitaph to be admired by all LET PEOPLE SPEAK! Do not move Cenotaph! It must remain on Alamo grounds where Defenders died!!! The City does not have the wherewithall to properly takedown such a large, magnificent monument without damaging it! Keep Cenotaph where it is in near center of original footprint of Alamo Plaza/battlground. My wish is that the plans will demonstrate respect and reverence. I like the plans for a clear and open view corridor of this world heritage site uncluttered by commercial operation. Clean manicured grounds respecting a sacred place. History told in a clear, consicse meaningful manner and ground that provide shade and space for contemplation Restore/repair Cenotaph in place!! Closing off Houston St. to even pedestrian traffic will destory businesses along all of Houston St. and cut off access to Post Office and Federal Building as well as Emily Morgan Hotel Reimagine the Alamo plan is a disaster. Scrap the whole thing. A huge waste of tax money, state and city. Leave Alamo and Plaza as it is. PGA Destinations sounds like a theme park. Not what Texans - or the world - wants. Just maintain, protect, preserve the site. PUT IT TO A VOTE!!!!! Do not move Cenotaph or close streets. I have my appointments where I drive and go down Alamo Street. My appointments are near my house and easy access to conduct my appointments. Closing streets makes it difficult and will cause added stress due to street closures. I love living downtown but street closures is absurd. Do not block or close the streets. It is a direct path from downtown to conduct business. Leave the streets alone and no closure of streets. You are focusing on tourist and not the residents that pay a great amount of taxes. More street closures is a terrible proposal. I believe it is important to bring visitors to the south side and share in our culture for the full San Antonio experience. It is just as important to share the stories of ethnic women and their struggles It's important to me that we take every effort to support our tejana heritage. To tell the story of the women of the Alamo. We need to emphasize Tejano hisotry and culture. Move Toribio Losoya to the compound!! Tell the Texican story. Remember the descendants. Talk about the women. Let the public use the image of the Alamo. It's important to include all 5 mission in this plan. The UNESCO World Heritage Sites are a showpiece TOGETHER for our city to capitalize on. Please include directional signage for the Southern sites. It needs to tell the whole story of those who were here before the Alamo!! Please be sure to tell people to head south to the missions!! How does moving the Cenotaph impact the overall design plan? Will not moving it actually harm or benefit the project?? Would relocating a similar monument in Washington, D.C. ever be contemplated based upon the significance of its historical/cultural value? I appreciate that the commission has listened to the input in previous meetings. My main concern is to find a way to continue to have the Battle of Flowers parade be able to give honor to the Alamo by going by it. I hope there will never be a charge to visit this historic place.

June 20 Meeting Responses Why spend so much money to move the cenotaph 500 feet away from where it was originally dedicated. Would it not be more cost-effective to repair and rest It's important to me that we take every effort to support our tejana heritage to tell the story of the women of the Alamo Leave Woolworth out of the legacy of the Alamo otherwise the bandstand/gazebo should be staying because it's part of the Alamo legacy by proxy. Listen to the citizens DO NOT MOVE THE CENOTAPH Here's a novel idea- HIRE SOMEONE FROM Texas! These guys are LOST! Leave ALAMO Plaza alone! Why do we have architects on this project from OUTSIDE of our great state of TEXAS???? Why do none of the Plan options include leaving the Cenotaph in current location #DON'T MOVE THE CENOTAPH #REMEMBER THE ALAMO NOT REIMAGINE IT!! DO NOT IKEA THE ALAMO!!! This is a terrible plan for the Alamo. Are the bistro type tables and chairs going to be removed and set up each and every day before opening and at closing? Even though the Plaza is supposedly 24 hour access? As shown in the pictures they do not look permanent. We stand with the Alamo Defenders Descendents & This Is Texas Freedom Force! LEAVE THE CENOTAPH ALONE!!!!!! My ancestor's name is on the Cenotaph. As long as it doesn't leave the plaza, I am ok with the new location. Don't remove soil from mission footprint Majority of Texans want you to revere the Alamo and leave their headstone alone The Cenotaph is a place to bow and pray for our ancestors right where it sits! Lowering the ground plane will convert Alamo Plaza into a mud pit when it rains. Proverbs 22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark thy father's set. Did you know Justice.gov recommends one report the force or threats of interference of religious beliefs to the FBI. Did you know removing landmarks which are graves is religious discrimination to followers of the Bible? Without streets have plenty of room for Cenotaph where it can be seen and admired and continue to Honor the Heroes as intended! Those who died in Normandy are remembered and buried on the ridge the defended The "pedestrianized" plaza is completely historically inaccurate and misrepresents what the mission was like. The renderings depict non-native trees unsu Pictures can be taken of the Cenotaph with the Alamo in the background for the first time. Moving the Cenotaph outside the walls is disrespecting the Alamo Defenders How are you going to let the handicap and mobility challenged enjoy the Alamo? Don't move the family headstone off the ground upon which the died Keep rock walls around gardens! When did the Alamo loose it's reverence? Stone wall is s WPA Work and should be preserved The Cenotaph is Texas' equivalent to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, moving it is NOT reverential! The new location has more prominence for the Cenotaph. LEAVE THE CENOTAPH ALONE!!!! The proposal has a dismal lack of emphasis on preservation and restoration of the surviving structures. There is only one preservationist employed. Cenotaph is a headstone nor just another sculpture!!!!!! Why don't you understand? Will George P Bush adhere to the new platform? Or Resign due to conflicting interests? The Cenotaph is as sacred as the Alamo! It is the Empty Tomb of all who died for Freedom! Why not put this silly "reimagine" nonsense, and the moving of the Cenotaph to a vote of the People of Texas, as the Alamo and the Cenotaph belong to the I am for moving the Cenotaph, but not off the plaza. Research on the root system for trees close to long barracks. Do you realize Immigrants were slaughtered at the Alamo by an out of control bigot? We don't want him memorialized. What is the purpose of moving The Cenotaph? TEXANS WILL NOT FORSAKE THEIR ANCESTORS so stop with your BS and start listening!! WE THE PEOPLE WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING! DO NOT MOVE THE CENOTAPH! How do you plan on keeping the crows, pigeons, & grackles from pooping on the grounds? They are messy and their excrement is difficult to clean and damaging. Your screen is cutting off my comments again!!! Shame on you for thinking of removing our defenders War Memorial-- they gave the ultimate sacrifice to bring about our Texas! The Federal government gave I like the plan over all. Maybe too many trees in the battlefield. Restore the Cenotaph, preserve it in it's location, that would display reverence, not the disrespect of moving it! Don't turn the Alamo Plaza into a New York Central Park! Thats not what Texans want!!! South plaza is historically insignificant and has no connection to the Alamo Defenders Sacrifice--putting the Cenotaph there diminishes it greatly and di How much is all this reimagine the Alamo going to cost taxpayers. Why does the Alamo need "reimagined"? It's to be Remembered, not commercialized. Why do y'all insist on moving the Cenotaph, leave it where it sits. Alamo mission isn't a park it's a cemetery The compromise location is good. Don't move it off of the plaza. Moving the Cenotaph is the antithesis of everything the historians are claiming they're are interested in doing, specifically highlighting the history an Do you realize the "torch" is a symbol of Mexican supremacy and to move the Cenotaph near it is absolutely a disgrace considering the Mexican army "torched" the immigrants who sacrificed their lives for liberty over tyrany. No weddings in the back Alamo gardens The Cenotaph is the Centerpiece of Alamo Plaza now!!! DON'T MOVE CENOTAPH!!! The majority of Texans have spoken, leave the cenotaph alone!!! Cenotaph isn't Center not respected if moved out of the mission footprint It would be in the midst of protests and shops Leave the Cenotaph where it is. No an adjacent space is NOT on the sacred grounds! Alamo2018 Do not create a party atmosphere at this sacred shrine of Texas. The Alamo belongs to Texans and the World! Do Not remove The Cenotaph! Hiding the Cenotaph dishonors the Heroes! Save the Oak trees!! Save the Oak trees!! Save the Oak trees!! It is unified and coherent as it stands right now. Stop trying to reimagine it. Don't cut our Alamo trees The City of San Antonio unethicaly and immoraly, removed the Confederate Ceotaph from Travis Park and in doing so; the City work crews damaged the war monument. The City did not have in thier legal possession the land deed to Travis Park, the grounds of the Cenotaph and the Cannons and hid the war monuments from public view. The City Management and Council lost a significant amount of trust from its citizenry and registered voters. How can we trust with the Alamo after they allready damaged a war monument?!? Don't cut our Alamo trees Don't cut our Alamo trees Don't cut our Alamo trees Will the area where the Cenotaph sits now remain public aftets it's moved? Why don't you use period materials to delineate Alamo boundaries? Will the area the Centop Save the Oak trees!! Save the Oak trees!! To move the Cenotaph to a prior pyre is disrespect in it's most heineas form. Their bodies we're disemboweled, dismembered. Such disrespect! I don't believe Alamo Plaza should be close to the public. From the very beginning Alamo Plaza has been a central hub for citizens and activities. Why ch Move the cenotaph to RESTORE the Alamo battlefield Move the cenotaph to RESTORE the Alamo battlefield I appreciate that the commission has listened to the input of previous meetings in doing away with the idea of the glass walls and the need for more shade. The Battle of Flowers lays wreaths in (2/3) front of the Alamo. The Fiesta Flambeau has the UT Longhorn Band stop and perform the song "The eyes of Texas". Compromises and proposals need to (3/3) include all aspects of city traditions. It's good to move the cenotaph to the South Plaza- closer to the funeral pyre If you close Alamo Street you MUST make concessions for the parades. They can pass in front in quiet respect. It's good to move the cenotaph to the South Plaza- closer to the funeral pyre It's good to move the cenotaph to the South Plaza- closer to the funeral pyre The only way to maintain purpose of Cenotaph is to keep it on the grounds of the Alamo Battle!!! Don't serve alcohol or food inside the Alamo footprint If you want to remove the Cenotaph then you should also remove the perepate on the facade. It is not original and was not on the building at the time of The Alamo Plaza today is alive with visitors, and citizens. Keep Aamo Street open so (1) people who cannot walk can see the Alamo from a vehicle, (2) military can hold impromptu ceremonies in front of the Alamo, ( The 3 buildings across the street are not historic to the Alamo. The Alamo is the most important above all. The plan for the Cenotaph is good. Restore and reclaim the battlefield The location proposed for the Cenotaph is a disgrace! DO NOT MOVE CENOTAPH! Something every citizen can use to experience a simulation of what happened and what things looked like back in the da Must save the Cenotaph in place! Will the Alami have the Confederate Regiment flag (The Alamo City Guard's) back on display? The Cenotaph should not be in the periphery of the Alamo. It needs to stay in the front. Build your benches around the current structure. Moving the Cenotaph off the grounds where Heroes died totally disconnects the Memorial from it's meaning and completely diminishes the Spirit of Sacrifice! DO NOT MOVE THE CENOTAPH..my 4th Great Grandfather sacrificed his life and the memorial The Cenotaph is where TEXANS give Thanks for our great State because of these fallen! What security measures will you enact to make sure the Cenotaph is respected. DO NOT MOVE IT? If the Museum is constructed, will it recognize the Alamo's roll during the War of Northern Aggression (Civil War 1861-1865)? There needs to be multiple plans that include the Cenotaph in its current location. Alamo2018 Stop out of owners from changing our history as 1836, the Battle of the Alamo. Can't we honor those Texian defenders by leaving the beautifu The purpose of these meetings supposedly is to HEAR the citizens! According to Lori Houston last night stated plainly The Cenotaph HAS to be moved!! So is this just all BS? When will adequate security be given to the Alamo, Cenotaph, and grounds. And who will handle this job. The south location for the Cenotaph is the best compromise. Moving the Cenotaph will NOT dishonor the defenders. My 3X great grandfather is one. With the battlefield open and the Cenotaph in the south location, you can have a 13 day reenactment encampment on the site! I appreciate this process of being informed and having the opportunity to listen and comment. My wish is that the plans for the Alamo will demonstrate respect and reverence.

I like the plans for a clear and open view corridor of this world heritage site uncluttered by commercial operation. Clean manicured grounds respecting a sacred place. History told In a clear concise meaningful manner. Grounds that provide shade and space for contemplation. An opportunity for both the Alamo and epitaph to be admired. My wish is that the plans for the Alamo will demonstrate re The Cenotaph is to fragile to be moved at all!! The Cenotaph needs to remain where it stands and be repaired. Wouldn't it be more beneficial for the cenotaph to be part of the Alamo Battlefield where you propose to have reenactments and live history learning in t Moving the Cenotaph away from the battle site will lose meaning to the Cenotaph since it was placed in the center of where our Alamo Defenders and also M Why does the Cenotaph need to move? Can't you repair in place? Do not refer to the Alamo as a museum. It is a sacred shrine as is the Cenotaph. The importance of the civil disobedience at the Woolworth lunch counter can not be overlooked if we are to really respect this Cradle of Texas Liberty. "Remember the Lunch Counter!" It is every bit as important as the battle. This gentrification of the Alamo Plaza only drives off the people that love the plaza and enjoy it, and making it boring, and of course for tourist. --Gene Elder Needless to say, whoever thought that Lasoya St, was ever going to be a 4 lane route obviously does not live her are go downtown. That would require the removal of the sidewalks even to make it a 3 lane path. And since we ae trying to be more pedestrian that is just a laughable plan. If you can come up with multiple plans for the Alamo footprint, why can't you present multiple plans for the Cenotaph staying in its current location? It is a travesty and disrespectful. Obviously it is not the citizenship desires. To continue to only support out of town architects and all developers no matter what, is awful. The plan is horrid. Alamo2018 All the focus on the Cenotaph should not take away from how great this plan really is. San Antonio will love this after it's done! Please city Alamo2018 Thank you Phil Collins and George P Bush! The Alamo will finally be what it should be! Alamo2018 This plan really remembers the Alamo. I love it! Alamo2018 This is a great plan! Every Texan should support it! Alamo2018 There is no historical reason not to relocate the Cenotaph. Moving the Cenotaph will NOT dishonor the defenders. My 3X great grandfather is one. What part of Leave Our Alamo & Cenotaph alone do you people not understand? I also want everyone involved in this that is NOT a Texas remove from this pr We need a lot more trees for shades. The only thing I remember about the alamo is that it was hot and loud because of traffic. Moving the cenotaph will restrict the possibility of from peeing on it again. The plans are al right with me. If people want to really remember the alamo they need to accept that change happens and we need to make the place better for people to remember it as an experience and not what it is now which is a tourist trap. also ripleys and the novelty shops need to go. Alamo2018 Day 3 Alamo Advisory Meeting and where is Mayor Nirenberg? It is a fact that we are not being heard, and there is no actual affirmation of that Please do not desecrate the Alamo. Keep it in our history as a historical site that was once a mission church where Texas heroes fought for in Alamo2018 All the yelling and booing embarrasses this city and Texas. Grow up please. Alamo2018 Why yell and carry on? This is a great plan for the Alamo but the yellers seem to only care about the Cenotaph! Alamo2018 It sounds like most opponents are either putting politics or their own agenda in front of what's good for the Alamo. Shame on them! Alamo2018 The Cenotaph will be gorgeous near the south area. They don't even light it now at night. This plan lights it and makes it glow. Amazing! How does moving the cenotaph impact the overall design plan ? Will not moving it actually harm or benefit the project? Would relocating a similar monument in Washington DC ever be contemplated based on the significance of its historical/cultural value? Alamo2018 This plan is thoughtful and brilliant. Would relocating a similar monument in Washington DC ever be com As a direct descendant of our first mayor of San Antonio and 1718 two of the families who helped found and settle the mission. I am enjoying seeing the vision being put forth that includes our whole story. I am interested in public places? Why won't y'all put this on the ballot for a Statewide Vote are you to scared & chicken too since you know you'll Loose? Keep Cenotaph within Alamo footprint! The Cenotaph is not a patio decoration! The most offensive aspect of the plan is moving the Cenotaph off of Alamo grounds where Heroes died! There is no honor in doing this--It is disgraceful! " Do not close Alamo Street. It is THE way tourists get a taste of The Alamo. And after they have driven by it, they will be sold on parking their car and then walking up closer to it!" What part of the $450+ budget will it cost to disasemble, repair, and replace the Cenotaph? Why can't re-enactment been done with Cenotaph in place? It's done now! Do not move Cenotaph or close streets. I have my appointments where I drive and go down Alamo Street. My appointments are near my house and easy access to conduct my appointments, closing streets makes it difficult and will cause added stress due to street closures. Leave the streets alone and no closure of streets. You are focusing on tourist and not the residents that pay a great amount of taxes. More street closures is a terrible proposal. Keep Cenotaph on Alamo grounds for connectivity and protection! Battle of Flowers Parade is to Honor the Heroes of the Battle of the Alamo, not anything Valero! When you take a family portrait, do you put anyone from your family off to the side? No! So too you should keep the Cenotaph in front of the Alamo. The new location for the Cenotaph is good for the overall plan Alamo 2018 Absolutely not, NO Modernization of any Kind to Our Alamo. Take this Snake Oil somewhere else. Leave Woolworth out of the legacy of the Alamo otherwise the bandstand/gazebo should be staying because it's part of the Alamo legacy by proxy. My wish is that the plans will demonstrate respect and reverence. I like the plans for a clear and open view corridor of this world heritage site uncluttered by commercial operation. Clean manicured grounds respecting a sacred place. History told in a clear, consicse meaningful manner and ground that provide shade and space for contemplation

The City of San Antonio unethicaly and immoraly, removed the Confederate Ceotaph from Travis Park and in doing so; the City work crews damaged the war monument.

I appreciate that the commission has listened to the input of previous meetings in doing away with the idea of the glass walls and the need for more shade. My main concern at this point is to find a way to continue to have the Battle of Flowers parade be able to give honor to the Alamo by going by it. Also I hope there will never be a charge to visit this historic place.

Augmented reality possesses the power to show the viewer a 360 degree view, where they can explore the environment and relive the events that happened. The viewer would be able to see an animated story right through the screen of their phone. Seeing as of last August, Apple has announced a deep dive into bringing the technology of augmented reality to the iPhones/iPads. Why isn't this option being explored as it could reduce costs down to a fraction. For which the remainder funds could be used toward making SA great by such as; helping the Drury Hotels replace their neon lighting with something such as LED bulbs.

--Gene Elder

We need a lot more trees for shades. The only thing I remember about the alamo is that it was hot and loud because of traffic. Moving the cenotaph will restrict the possibility of ozzy osbourne from peeing on it again. The plans are al right with me. If people want to really remember the alamo they need to accept that change happens and we need to make the place better for people to remember it as an experience and not what it is now which is a tourist trap. also ripleys and the novelty shops need to go.

In the Fall of 2017: The City of San Antonio unethical and immorally removed the Confederate Ceotaph from Travis Park and in doing so, City work crews damaged the war veterans monument and hide it away from public view. There needs to be multiple plans that include the Cenotaph in its current location.,When will adequate security be given to the Alamo, Cenotaph, and grounds. And who will handle this job.,How do you plan on keeping the crows, pigeons, & grackles from pooping on the grounds? They are messy and their excrement is difficult to clean and damaging.,The Cenotaph should not be in the periphery of the Alamo. It needs to stay in the front. Build your benches around the current structure.,How do you plan to add names to the Cenotaph? I don't want the location of my great grandfather's name moved to another spot. It needs to remain in the spot. Can the new names be added to a separate slab so as not to disturb the current placement of ALL names?,If you can come up with multiple plans for the Alamo footprint, why can't you present multiple plans for the Cenotaph staying in its current location?,When you take a family portrait, do you put anyone from your family off to the side? No! So too you should keep the Cenotaph in

It's important to include all 5 missions in the plan. The UNESCO World Heritage sites are showpiece together for our city to capitalize on. Please include directional signage for the Southern sites.,Tell TEXICAN story. Remember the descendants. Talk about the women. Let public use the image of Alamo.,It needs to tell the whole story of those who were here before the Alamo (the native Americans). All those that were here during the battle and those of "us" that are still here...tell of the diverse cultures that are "the story" of what was and is NOW.,Be sure to tell people to head south to the missions!,We need to emphasize Tejano history and culture. We need a lot more trees for shades. The only thing I remember about the alamo is that it was hot and loud because of traffic. The City of San Antonio unethicaly and immoraly, removed the Confederate Ceotaph from Travis Park and in doing so; the City work crews damaged the war monument.
