True20 Adventure Roleplaying Trademark License FAQ
True20 Adventure Roleplaying Trademark License FAQ Q: Do I have to submit my products for approval? A: No, you do not. We've tried to make the license easy to use. If you just follow the terms, you shouldn't have any problems. Q: Can I use this license for electronic products other than PDFs, like character generators? A: No, this license is only for the publication of printed books and PDF products. Any other sort of products must be licensed from Green Ronin on an individual basis. Q: Why can't I put True20 or True in the title? A: Green Ronin has established a naming pattern in its previous True20 books and we'd like that pattern to remain unique to official releases. Q: When can I start publishing using this license? A: Any time after May 12, 2008. Q: Can I use this license to do product in other languages? A: Yes, you can. The only additional limitation is that you must follow the terminology used in the appropriate True20 corebook if it exists in the language you're going to use. For example, Wyrd Edizione publishes True20 in Italy. If you want to do Italian language True20 material, you must follow the translation standards of Wyrd's version of the core rulebook. This is to ensure that terminology remains consistent in each language. Q: What should the Section 15 of the Open Game License in my product include? A: For starters it must include the entirety of the Section 15 from the Revised Edition of True20 Adventure Roleplaying. -

Slayers CYOA (Jumpchain-Compliant!)
Slayers CYOA (Jumpchain-Compliant!) Welcome to the world of Slayers! In the beginning, when the world was formed from the essence of the Lord of Nightmares, two great beings and their servants began to fight over it – the Shinzoku, led by Flare Dragon Ceifeed, sought to defeat the Mazoku and their ruler Ruby Eye Shabranigdu. This conflict, known as the Shinma War, ended five thousand years ago and destroyed the center of the Sleeping Dragon supercontinent, leaving behind the present world. Though Ceifeed was slain, he successfully sealed Shabranigdu away and left four parts of himself to watch over the world – Aqualord Ragradia, Firelord, Vrabazard, Airlord Valwin, and Earthlord Rangort. Later, however, the Mazoku known as Hellmaster Fibrizo sought to revive Shabranigdu and destroy Ragradia! To prevent the other Shinzoku from interfering on behalf of their sister, Fibrizo and his Mazoku erected the great Mazoku Barrier around an area the size of Europe. This barrier has since stood for the last thousand years, preventing Holy Magic from being cast (as it relies on the power of the Shinzoku), but causing the development of White Magic, Black Magic, and Shamanistic Magic. Before she fell, though, Ragradia left her knowledge and memories in a single book – the Clair Bible! Little is known of the world outside the Barrier, besides that magic never truly developed there and the people turned to technology. Now, a thousand and fifteen years after the Koma War, as this second conflict was called, the young sorceress Lina Inverse has set out on a quest of her own, and in just 24 hours will meet Gourry Gabriev, a swordsman. -
Encounters at the Imaginal Crossroads: an Exploration of the Experiences of Women in Role-Playing Games
MIAMI UNIVERSITY The Graduate School Certificate for Approving the Dissertation We hereby approve the Dissertation of Christopher J. Dyszelski Candidate for the Degree: Doctor of Philosophy ________________________________________________________ Roger M. Knudson, Ph.D., Director ________________________________________________________ Karen Maitland Schilling, Ph.D., Reader _________________________________________________________ Ann Fuehrer, Ph.D., Reader _________________________________________________________ C. Lee Harrington, Ph.D., Graduate School Representative ABSTRACT ENCOUNTERS AT THE IMAGINAL CROSSROADS: AN EXPLORATION OF THE EXPERIENCES OF WOMEN IN ROLE-PLAYING GAMES By Christopher J. Dyszelski This study was a critical, archetypal, feminist ethnography and psychological inquiry into the experiences of women in tabletop role-playing gaming and its culture. Informed by performance ethnographic practice and the spirit of these games, it is written as an adventurous journey into and encounter with these experiences based on participant observation, interviews with gaming professionals, an online questionnaire of 428 gamers, and series of interviews with female gamers. Ethnographically, this study documents the history and experiences of women in the culture of gaming. It presents profiles of a diversity of female gamers and explores historically the ways that women have established themselves as members of this culture and shaped this traditionally male dominated hobby. It also examines a multiplicity of opinions about and experiences of sexism, prejudice, and discrimination of women in gaming. While demonstrating the progress in the games and their culture to become more inclusive and welcoming to women, it shows there is still far to go. It also demonstrates how despite the possibility and creative potential for gaming and its culture to imagine completely new social worlds, the same power dynamics and social structures are recreated in the games, groups, and culture. -
