Obviously, these items would be a good gift idea for any occasion year-round, as well as a gift for yourself! We do not include many, if any at all, single CDs in the guide. Most everything contained will be multiple CD sets, DVDs, CD/DVD sets, books and the like. Of course, you can always look though our back issues to see what came out in 2017 (and prior years), but none of us would want to attempt to decide which CDs would be a fitting ad- dition to this guide. As with 2016, the year 2017 was a bit on the lean side as far as reviews go of box sets, books and DVDs - it appears tht the days of mass quantities of boxed sets are over - but we do have some to check out. These are in no particular order in terms of importance or release dates.

  • Young Eagles Programs in Practice a Guide to What Various Chapters Are
YOUNG EAGLES PROGRAMS IN PRACTICE A GUIDE TO WHAT VARIOUS CHAPTERS ARE DOING Revised Dec. 2015 Charlie White Young Eagles Coordinator Chapter 1073 1. Free Flying movies are sponsored by the chapter the first Friday of each month excluding December and January (weather) permitting. This is modeled after the Flabob Airport Friday Night Flight Flicks. This serves as a community outreach. 2. Chapter sponsors a pancake breakfast the 2nd Saturday each month in coordination with the Young Eagles flight through October. Revised Dec. 2015 Bill Shaw EAA # 491675 Zanesville, Ohio 1. The Chapter, with the help of a grant, was able to combine their Young Eagles program with the Ohio University Zanesville campus run summer camp. Students participate in a day camp which meets for three hours per day. One week of the camp is devoted to aviation. The highlights of the aviation week included: They did a “Junkyard Wars” type program similar to the shows that have been on the Discovery Channel. Lowes and other home building materials stores donated all types of scrap materials from construction sites and damaged inventory. A junkyard was created and the build teams had to collect materials to build a glider and a launching machine. The designs were judged and then launched to see who could have the best flight. The local radio control airplane club donated some Styrofoam easy to assemble gliders as prizes. At the end of that week, all the kids received their Young Eagles Ride. This included the standard walk around pre-flight talk along with the posters from Sportys, and the free learning to fly booklet provided by Gleim as reference materials.

Tucker “Sean D. Tucker reveals to us what determination, refined skill and pure passion can accomplish – not just through his awe-inspiring performances, but in the way he leads his life. He embodies the very same qualities that have driven Oracle, making Sean a natural ambassador for the company and our collective goals.” – Judith Sim, Chief Marketing Officer, Oracle Sean D. Tucker is more than a remarkable aviator and industry leading aerobatic pilot. He’s celebrated by his peers, adored by his fans and recognized by Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum as a Living Legend of Flight. With a full-throttle attitude, he shares his passion for aviation, inspiring others to pursue their dreams, conquer their fears and refine their skills. His enthusiasm is contagious. It’s evident in his ground-breaking, one-of-a-kind aerobatic maneuvers that make millions of jaws drop each year. It’s also evident in the way he undertakes any challenge; with gusto and fervor. Airshow Beginnings Tucker’s life is marked by a search for excellence and a drive to overcome. What started as a quest to conquer a fear of flying has evolved into the art of precision, performance and perfected skill. The level of professionalism and discipline in Tucker’s airshows is no coincidence.
