    Oklahoma State University 15 ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY The Mission Proud of its land-grant heritage, Oklahoma State University advances knowledge, enriches lives and stimulates economic development through The History instruction, research, outreach and creative activities. Oklahoma State University was founded on December 25, 1890, as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, just 20 months after Student Profile the Land Run of 1889. When the first students assembled for class on Oklahoma State University has a diverse student body. Students come December 14, 1891, no buildings, books or curriculum existed.     UNIVERSITY OKLAHOMA STATE FOOTBALL 2011 GUIDE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT Before being named OSU President, Hargis had a long and distinguished legal and business career, with active civic and philanthropic leadership across BURNS many fronts. Prior to coming to OSU, he was Vice Chairman of Bank of Oklahoma, N.A.
