CHURCH PLANTER Feromsa Seyoum Gobena PEOPLE GROUP Beni Shangul / Berta of TESTIMONY Feromsa Seyoum Gobena was born in 1992 in the Metekel area. He grew up Christian and was baptized in 2006. Feromsa confirms that he was called to our mission to preach, teach, disciple, and plant churches in and around the area, and particularly to evangelize the Berta people who are the most unreached people group in Ethiopia. EXPERIENCE Feromsa has a diploma in surveying technology. He has served in the Assosa Meseret Kiristos Local Church as a program leader, gospel preacher, Keyboardist, leader of the student’s family fellowship, and leader of the gospel transmission committee. Because of God’s purpose, the church gave him an independent gospel spreading mission in the Bambasi district in 2019 in collaboration with the Meseret Kiristos head office. In this short period of time, he reached a number of fruitful achievements. Feromsa is highly ethical, disciplined, and is now serving in our church. He is married to Nechite Mamo.

They are part of the Nilotic people cluster within the Sub-Saharan African affinity bloc. Globally, this group totals 533,000 in 2 countries (Ethiopia 300,000 and 233,000). Their primary language is Berta. The primary religion practiced by the Beni Shangul is Islam, a monotheistic religion built around the teachings of the Qur’an and of the prophet Muhammad.
