New Scunthorpe epilepsy coffee and chat support group

National charity Epilepsy Action has launched a coffee and chat group to support people affected by epilepsy across Scunthorpe.

The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Café Indiependent, High Street, Scunthorpe. Meetings take place from 11.00am to 12.30pm. The drop-in session is a chance for people affected by epilepsy to come together in an informal setting to support each other and share experiences.

Simon Wadsley, a local Epilepsy Action volunteer, said: “The meetings are a great idea because they enable people with epilepsy to access information and to feel that they are not alone in having the condition. I know from experience how isolating epilepsy can be. We hope that this group will provide people with a space for people to find support”

For more information, please contact Cliff Challenger on 01274 640 064 or email [email protected]

Epilepsy affects around one in every 100 people in the UK and there are around 51000 people living with epilepsy in . Each year Epilepsy Action directly helps over 1.3 million people through a range of services, including the Epilepsy Action Helpline, branch network, specialist nurse scheme and award-winning website.

For more information visit epilepsy.org.uk or call the Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050.
