6 Orana Green connects with Telstra

Orana employees are helping more South Australians connect with its Telstra maintenance contract which now covers much of South Australia. Areas covered include: Mt Gambier, Meningie, Loxton, Port Pirie, Port Augusta, most of the Adelaide metropolitan area, and the York and Fleurieu Peninsulas. The contract, which now has one full time work crew in Adelaide as well as employees in most of the country regions working on it, entails maintenance of grounds and facilities, ensuring they are kept clean, tidy, safe and aesthetically pleasing. As a result, Orana has made a significant investment in more equipment such as twin cab vehicles, ride-on lawn mowers and gardening and cleaning equipment. “It’s very exciting for our employees to be working outside within the local community and this contract brings a whole wealth of opportunities to those who hadn’t previously been able to do external work,” ‘Panda’ring round the Zoo says Tony de Vries, Orana General Manager Employment Services and Business. “Furthermore, Telstra Orana Accommodation Port Pirie in partnership is so pleased with our work that the contract is now extending to include more duties and also internal with Bedford Day Options had a great day recently cleaning of exchanges.” at the Adelaide zoo to see the new additions “I really enjoy doing this work and I am learning lots of new skills” says Shaun Brunt – one of the Wang Wang and Funi. employees on the metropolitan Orana Green team that services the Telstra contract. It was a long, but great and rewarding day and it finished with a trip to Hungry Jacks before the drive home. Our thanks go to Bedford for helping make the day so successful.
