The soaring eagle is the mascot of our school. BALD EAGLES are a powerful symbol of America. Bald eagle chicks are actually white not brown. And the final fact about the bald eagle is that the bald eagle holds a record of making the largest nest of any bird.

Hi my name is Dexter It was a long time ago before I melted. I was cheerful to be with my human Lilly and Maddy. Also proud that I was made. I was in Colorado when I was hoping around on the last day of winter. With my friends Lilly and Maddy when it started to get hot. Then my friends went inside to get some ice cream. “Wait don’t leave me outside in the Heat I will melt.” “Then Lilly said sorry Dexter we were just going inside for ice cream.” I had mittens, a hat, and a scarf on. Man was I boiling hot out there. Then Maddy said “are you ok Dexter?” “Um I’m i’m i’m FINE.” B y: Tatum, grade 3

Once a snowman named Carly came to life on a dark snowy day. She came to life by a scarf that had a little magic that the kids dad had from when she was a magic man. She was so happy that she came to life, she decided to go to school. Carly met people and had lots of friends. The next day it was sunny and hot so she hopped in sher car, and when to the school. But in school it got hot but right back to cold, she always got scared so she went home and never went back to school again. But she did hang out with his friends they played in the pool she floated at the top. Some people used her as a floatie thing. But they all had to leave school first. So she went to school again but it was cold that day so it was hot in the classroom she did not notice. Everyone warned her but it was too late melted snow,water on the floor, everyone was so sad that day. The race for life By Dylan Grade 3

I raced off the cliff, sure to beat Kogure. Instead, I went off a little bump next to the edge of the cliff engulfed in snow. I flew off like a hawk, but gravity shut it down. My snowboard flew off my feet, and I tumbled in thin air, while I was falling at least 100 million feet off a cliff! I was a pro at snowboarding, my casual look is just a plain blue shirt and black pants. My snowboarding look was a scarf, mask, a snow shirt and pants, and, of course, snow boots. I was 16, Kogure was a mean snowboarder, champion of TV, a teaser, and a big bully. Sathvik was a helper to me, he gives me tips when I'm troubled! The time was 3:56 in the afternoon, and I was practicing snowboarding again in the training course where there was a giant cliff, next to the snow resort where I was staying. I fell off 5 feet of one of the training places with a faceplant, and my face stinged from the snow in my eyes. All I could see was pure whiteness. Suddenly, Kogure and his gang slowly walked by, but of course, not without being a little bit mean. “Guys, look at Dylan the snowface. Hahahahahaha!” All of Kogure’s gang members laughed straight at me! Now, I was one of the victims of one of the most mean teasers and most powerful; Kogure and his gang. I walked inside my snow resort and, unluckily, Kogure was my roommate! A bully was gonna be my roommate; for 8 days! “So, Dylan Otto. total noob.” Kogure stated. “No, it’s YOU that’s the big noob,” I stated, defensively. I wanted to twirl up in my bed and rest, but I knew that would do no use since Kogure had access to my bed. Seems like getting bullied will be my morning routine. I thought, groaning. I felt like sitting down and watching shows, but there Kogure was, trashing up the TV. Seems like him bullying me is better than TV to him. Since Kogure ruined everything, I had nothing to do. Luckily, I kept my stuff untouched in a locked closet. Suddenly, Kogure came up to me, with a smile on this face. “(Sigh) Oh brother, guess Kogure will torture me AGAIN,” I stared at him, ready for the bully inside him to jump out at me. “I see you don’t like my pleasure,” he stated, sarcastically. Then he started getting serious. “I have a challenge. A snowboarding race. If I win, I will torture you…. FOREVER. If you win, I will never bother with you again.” I quickly replied. “Yes! I would LOVE to have you go away­ forever.” I quickly ran out, eager to get to the training place again. I kept on falling when I tried to finish the training course. “Come on!” I yelled at myself, for what seemed the 100th time. There was no WAY I could beat a pro if my stats were like… this. I felt like my mind drifting to Sathvik for help, so I texted him for advice. “What do I do? I'm supposed to beat Kogure at a snowboarding race!” I texted. “Well, you should decline it or move or something.” Sathvik texted back. “Well, that wasn’t helpful,” I stated. “Looks like I'm alone.” It’s 6 minutes before the midnight race. I felt like sleeping in my hotel bed, all cozy, but it was a bunk bed and Kogure just messed it up really badly. The bed was ripped and decimated, at least my side of the bed was. Kogure’s side was squeaky clean, like something I would want. Unfortunately, Kogure wouldn’t even let me TOUCH it. This just happened today. A GH! I’VE HAD ENOUGH! I thought. I walked up to Kogure. “This race is over! I officially decline it!” “You accepted to do the race,” Kogure explained. “Yeah, but…” I couldn’t manage to squeeze in a word. We stared at each other for hours until Kogure stated… “Oh! Times up. Time for the race of d eath. ” Me and Kogure were on the hill, snowboard in hand. “Ready for sweet death?” Kogure stated, shaking my bones. I jumped on my snowboard and started to race. I raced off the cliff, sure to beat Kogure. Instead, I went off a little bump next to the edge of the cliff engulfed in snow. I flew off like a hawk, but gravity shut it down. My snowboard flew off my feet, and I tumbled in thin air, while I was falling at least 100 million feet off a cliff! I managed to grab onto the side of the mountain, as Kogure zipped past me. I managed to clench enough courage to jump off 12 feet onto Kogure’s snowboard, totally throwing him off. Unluckily, he tumbled towards the finish line. N O!!! I jumped off the snowboard and ran fast as the wind. I won, at least ONE millisecond before Kogure! I smiled at him, while he looked like he just did something embarrassing in front of his special fan club. He whirled around and coughed, while my body felt like I just ran 200 miles in a minute. It’s not possible, but it is a pretty wild feeling. I managed to push a sentence through my exhausted body. “This race is over, Kogure.” “No, no, IT’S NOT!!! I WANT A REMATCH! I MEAN, WITHOUT YOU BEING LUCKY!” Kogure complained. “Nope, you made the deal,” I stated. Up to the hotel, Kogure and I had a really big argument. Mostly about the race. “Ai ai ai, I'm just gonna bully another person,” Kogure stated. “Nope,” I replied. “Why?” Kogure stated. “Because. It’ll kinda bully me, too, because I care!” I stated. Haha! I got Kogure in MY grip of control, and now he can’t bully anybody else. “What did you get yourself into, Kogure? Ha!” I stated, before slamming the door of my room. I opened my door and stated “Go to room 675. Now,” and then slammed it again. Room 675 is nice, but not as nice as this room to him. “Ahh, now I can live on without a bully touching my stuff every few seconds!” I stated. I layed on my bed, in exhaustion. Except, without Kogure. Without a bully. Just me. I texted Sathvik. “Sathvik, I did it! I beat him!” And then I texted my old teacher, Miss Patla. “You should have seen me! I stopped a bully for eternity today!” And then I shut off my phone and stated “Whew, I STILL can’t believe I did it…” Then I continued just laying on my bed. When a bully bullies you each day for eternity, don’t endure it. Fight back. Make him choose a different target, or stop him forever!

Once there was a snowman named Karal, Karal was tall, had a snow scarf, a shiny orange nose,had two eyes made from coal, and lived in Illinois. Karal was the king of the snowmen, but he was a goofy snow king. He always is making silly mistakes, once he poured orange juice in his cereal on purpose, and another when he talked to chairs. Once he made the silliest mistake of all. It was 7:34 A.M, the sun was shining bright Karal was in his big snow castle that won't melt and Karal was playing outside and it was 87 degrees! Prep: 35min, Cook: 7min, Ready In: 2hr 42min 1. Cream 1 cup butter or margarine and 3/4 cup white sugar together. Blend in egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and grated lemon peel. Sift together 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture and blend well. Cover and refrigerate dough for approximately 2 hours. 2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). 3. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Use a floured heart shaped 1 to 2 inch cookie cutter and cut dough into heart shapes. Place the cut-out hearts on greased cookie sheets. 4. Using the drinking straw, make a hole at the top center of each heart before baking. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes until very lightly browned. Cool the cookies on a wire rack. 5. To Make Butter Frosting: Mix 3 cups confectioners' sugar and 1/3 cup butter together. Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons milk. Beat until smooth making sure frosting is of spreading consistency. Stir in food coloring to create a pink or red colored frosting, if desired. 6. After cookies have cooled, frost and decorate them with nonpareils, sprinkles, dragees, or colored sugar. Use a toothpick to dislodge the hole, if necessary. Let the frosting dry. 7. To make a necklace, tie the ends off of two pieces of red colored licorice with a knot. Thread it through the hole at the top center of the cookie. A Pourquoi Tale About Valentine's Day By: Dominique and Himakshee, 4th grade Long, Long ago in 1843 on February 14, there lived a woman named Valentine. She was very creative and thoughtful. On February 14, she was in her kitchen making chocolate for her husband because it was his birthday. All of a sudden, she had an idea to make chocolate for everyone she loved and cared about. She wanted to because everyone loved her chocolate and she felt like spreading love and joy to the people she cared about. When she was finished making the chocolate, she put them in little bags for everyone to enjoy. Later that day she walked to her family’s house to give them the chocolate. Everyone loved and appreciated the chocolate so much. After she delivered the chocolate, everyone appreciated it so much that they all got together and planned that day to be Valentine's Day. In honor of Valentine, they made February 14 a day where they spread love and joy to the people they care about just like Valentine did. From that day forward every February 14 is known as Valentine’s Day, and people spread love everywhere.

I’m going to tell you what to wear when you make a snowman, what you should put on a snowman and how to make the snowman's body.

When you make a snowman, you should wear snow pants a coat snow boots a hat and a scarf. You should wear this stuff because if you don’t you will get sick.First you make the body. You grab a snowball and roll it on the ground and collect snow on it. Then you make two more and the top one should be small the middle one should be medium sized and the bottom one should be the biggest. After you make the snowman’s body you put on a hat and a scarf, sticks for his hands, a carrot for his nose, and raisins for his eyes. The final thing is buttons. How to make cheeseburger donut!! How to make cheeseburger donut.It sounds gross but it actually is good. First you want to go to the store and by some ground beef. Once you’ve got your ground beef you are going to separate it into pieces with your hand.Once you have separated some pieces of your ground beef you want to make it like a flat sphere. Next you want to take those patties and seel them up tightly in a sandwich bag,and put them in the fridge.In the meantime you can take your donut and cut it in half so then you will be able to put the patties on your donut. Then you want to take your cheeseburgers out of the fridge and put them on the stove to cook at medium high for both sides. Make sure you flip each pattie 1 time so then each side can cook. After that you want to place a slice of cheese on the side facing up at least 1 minute before that patties are done cooking.The cheese will be melted because of the heat that is transferred from the meat. Last you want to take your patties off of the stove and take 2 slices of your donut and put your pattie on one of them. Next you want to take a big ripe tomato and cut a piece to put on your pattie. Well, in this selection you will learn how many different countries celebrate Valentine’s Day! First of all, do you really know who Saint Valentine is? Do you think he’s cupid, or anybody else? Well, there are many stories about him, and I guess we still don’t know which one is true. But the most popular belief was that he was a priest from Rome in the third century AD. Meanwhile, do you celebrate Valentine’s Day like Denmark does? Denmark has a Danish twist for Valentine’s day. Instead of roses, Denmark has their friends and sweethearts. Not to mention, Denmark also uses pressed white flowers called snowdrops. Also on February 14th, men write g aekkebrev, which is a funny poem or rhyme written on cut paper and signed with only anonymous dots. In fact, France celebrates Valentine’s Day in many ways as well! Did you know that France is one of the most romantic destinations in the world? No wonder Valentine’s Day is long celebrated in France! One traditional thing in France is the loterie d’amour, or drawing for love. Men and women would fill houses that faced one another then take turns calling out to each other and pairing off. Men who weren’t satisfied with their match could simply leave a woman for another, and the women left unmatched gathered afterward for a bonfire. Another nation that celebrates Valentine’s Day is South Korea. Did you know that Valentine’s Day is a great holiday for young couples in South Korea? Also, in South Korea, people give gifts on this special holiday. People mostly give each other flowers, candies, and chocolates. But the wierd thing is that in South Korea, March 14th is like Valentine’s Day. On March 14th, men give their sweethearts many gifts. Not to mention, the Philippines celebrates Valentine’s Day in creative ways too! While Valentine’s Day celebrations in the Philippines are similar to celebrations in Western countries, one tradition has swept the country and led to thousands of couples sharing a wedding day on February 14th. Mass wedding ceremonies have gained popularity in the Philippines in recent years, leading hundreds of couples to gather at malls or other public areas around the country to get married or renew their vows. Also, England celebrates Valentine’s Day in many unique ways too! On Valentine’s Eve, women in England place 5 bay leaves on their pillows, 4 on each corner and 1 in the middle. They do this to bring dreams of their future husbands. Also in Norfolk, Jack Valentine is the “Santa” of Valentine’s Day. Children anxiously wait to hear Jack Valentine knock at their doors, and although they don’t catch a glimpse of Jack Valentine, children enjoy the candies and small gifts left on their porches. On the other hand, South Africa has many ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Like many other nations, South Africa celebrates Valentine’s Day with many festivals and flowers. Also, w omen pin the names of their love interest on their shirtsleeves, known as an ancient Roman tradition called Lupercalia. However, in Wales, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day, too. You won’t see Welsh celebrating Saint Valentine- instead, they celebrate Saint Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers. This is celebrated on January 25th, and not February 14th. One traditional gift is a love spoon, which is carved from wood. Only men give out the spoons. Sometimes at the top of the spoon there are different keychains at the top. For example, wheels are for support, horseshoes symbolize good luck, and keys symbolize the keys to a man’s heart. Now, do you know how Italy honors Valentine’s Day? Well, one way to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Italy is that young unmarried girls would wake up before dawn to spot their future husbands. T he belief was that the first man a woman saw on Valentine’s Day was the man she would marry within a year. If not, the man would strongly resemble the man the woman saw. As a matter of fact, Brazil honors Valentine’s Day too! Instead of having Valentine’s Day on February 14th, Brazilians totally skip that day! Instead of Valentine’s Day, Brazilians celebrate Dia dos Namorados, or “lovers day” on June 12th. In fact, music festivals are heard throughout the country. All in all, Valentine’s Day is a very special holiday that deserves to live on. I say that people should celebrate Valentine’s Day, even if they don’t have any sweethearts. “Do you want to know how to make heart cookies?” you ask. Well you have come to the right place. First you need these ingredients:

1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) chocolate chip cookie mix

¼ cup all­purpose flour

½ cup butter or margarine, softened

1 egg

3­inch open heart­shaped cookie cutter

Then here are the directions 1 H eat oven to 375°F. In medium bowl, stir cookie mix, flour, butter and egg until well blended. Roll into 1 1/4­inch balls.

● 2 S pray cookie cutter with cooking spray; place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press dough ball evenly into cutter. Remove cutter; reshape dough if necessary. Continue making heart­shaped cookies, placing 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Spray cookie cutter as needed with cooking spray. ● 3 B ake 6 to 8 minutes or until light golden brown. How TO Cook Chocolate Chip Cookies By Sophia I like chocolate chip cookies because they are sweet and chewy. First of all add ¾ cup packed brown sugar. Ore else the dough will not turn out tasty. Then mix the sugars. If You don't it will not be dough. Next make sure there are no clumps. No clumps are better because they Won't be smooth if there are clumps. Also put 1 stick of salted butter. If you don't add butter it won't taste good. Another yummy thing is put 1 egg in the bowl. Put milk in the bowl. Then put chocolate chips in the bowl. Put light chocolate chips. Next get out a pan. Also get out some wax paper. Then roll the dough in balls. They will flatten Out in the oven. Next put them on the pan. If you don't put it on the pan they cant cook. Then put them in the oven for 11 minutes. Then take them out and enjoy!

I love pizza. i love making it with my mom. First you need crust tomatoes cheese mushrooms and A pan. I love mushrooms because they are healthy. Also you put the crust on a pan. so it doesn't get dirty. Next you put tomatoe sauson the crust.you put the tomatoe saus on a spoon and put it on the pizza. Lastly you sprinkle cheese on top of the pizza. Then you put it in the oven for twenty minutes. Now it’s going to taste good. H ow To Cook Pizza By Chase I am going to teach you how to make pizza. How To Cook Rainbow Cake By Natalie To make a rainbow cake I have to make the dough. Eggs, flower, food coloring, flavorings toppings, baking powder, sugar, and butter. Next put it in the bowl and stir it up. When you're done doing the batter put it in four bowls. Put some food coloring. I would say a sprinkle. Mix the coloring and voila! That's how to make rainbow batter. Next put the batter in two separate tins. The toppings that you need are sprinkles, cream, and m&ms.Then turn on the oven and put the Rainbow cake in there for 30 minutes. Take it out and voila! Your own rainbow cake and enjoy!

The better part is after you go in the snow you can go inside and get warm and drink hot cocoa. Also when you go outside you can build a snow fort with your siblings, and have a snowball fight. In the snow you can sleep in a snow fort but chances are you will get snow dumped on your face. You can go outside and build a snowman, with carrots, and coal. One day, a snowman named Buttons wanted to go skiing. It was a cold and wintry day. It was also going to start to snow in the middle of the day. Button was thinking, Should I go skiing or should I just stay home and watch TV? Eventually he decided that it would be more exciting to go skiing. So he called his friend Carrot and asked him to go skiing with him. “Sure,” Carrot excitedly said. So they got their skis and met up at the snow mountain at 3:00 P.M. “Which hill should we go down first?” Buttons asked. “I think we should go down the bunny hill first since it has been a long time since we first skied.” So they ran to the bunny hill with the skis in their hands. As soon as they got to the top of the bunny hill, they set the skis down and snapped them into place. “On the count of 3 we both will start to go down the hill.” “ 1…. 2….. 3…..GO!” They raced down the hill.. Buttons took the lead.. But not long after Carrots pulled ahead. “Wait up!” Buttons exclaimed. The second he started yelling, Buttons lost his balance and tumbled into the snow. Once upon a time there was a snowman named Sam. She was the nicest snowman, but she had a story. It was a story she only knew, except me.. Once upon a time there lived a lonely girl called Emma. One day when it was snowing she got on her snow pants, her coat her boots and gloves, and made a snowman. “ Her name is Sam,” said Emma. That night when everyone was asleep, Sam became alive and set out for her journey to find the frost. The frost is a food that only snowmen eat once they find it the morning takes them a away to a very cold place. If they do not find it they stay till they find it. She searched high and low then she found it. Yes! She ate it, and had to go back to her place so in the morning. As the morning light shone she knew it was her last day here. But one day on July he was going to his snow fort he took and nap and woke up to go and get food . by the time he came back his snow fort was melted by the sun . But he still said that he can stay in the sun because his name was Sunny . but he did stay in the sun before he melted . Because he made the snow fort . but he went to get food again but he couldn’t find his house . So he tried finding a lot of snow. But he got to tired from running . So he melted away. Once on heated day in the middle of winter there was an unlucky snowman named Smiley. Smiley was sitting in a girl named Grace’s front yard, waiting till the sun went down to go play with his friends, Silly, and Lily, which belonged to a two year old boy named Ester. The house was surrounded by trees in a forest in Wisconsin. The snowman stood patiently for hours everyday just to play with his friends. Then Smiley saw Grace getting her coat on. “Oh this is great he thought, I can go play with them now!” thought Smiley. On the hot Sunday the overjoyed, black-buttened snowman hopped off to Ester’s house, hoping to find Silly, and Lily. Smiley knew he would not melt under the shaded trees so he went right away and took his time. Smiley was so happy that he wasn’t even worried about getting back in time. He looked around the forest happily, observing almost every detail. He got so interested in all the animals and plants that he got lost in the forest. He ran into a space in the forest were a blinding sunlight filled his eyes. He couldn't feel himself any more. He finally realized that he had took the wrong way and was now melting. Hello there, do you know Frosty the snowman? Well I bet you don’t know Phil the snowman. (He is Frosty’s brother of course.) No one ever talks about Phil. But Phil was brave and bold he loved ice cream. Phil had three big round snowballs for his body and his head, a carrot nose and a smooth, silk top hat.(Except for the fact that he was afraid of hair dryers.) He went on vacation to the North Pole. He couldn’t just take a regular plane because it would be to warm and he would have to sit in the baggage hold. So he took a luxury private jet all the way there and sat in a “hot tub” full of cold water. On the pane Phil found a newspaper tucked under the hot tub. It said “HEAT WAVE AT NORTH POLE.” “Ahh these weather people. They can be so tricky sometimes.” But when he arrived he realized THOSE WEATHER PEOPLE WERE RIGHT!!! Suddenly a strange sensation came over Phil. He felt like he was shrinking. But then he felt flat. “I must be a puddle of water.” Yes it was very sad that day phil melted but one thing’s for sure on Christmas eves when there is a full moon, You will see Phil flying through the air on his lime green sleigh shouting: “MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS, FROM PHIL! “OH I ALMOST FORGOT, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!! Then her “mom said Bree you have a meeting today with her friends so get ready “bree said ok.. She had to move because her meeting was in Antarctica and she lived at the north pole.. She was going to be cold so she had to go to the store to get a scarf, gloves and a hat because in Antarctica it is so cold. So she was driving to the meeting. But then he ran into Sven and he fell into him when he got up he slipped on his own feet. Then all his pieces came of and he melted. Olaf was so scared that his feet ran all the way to where Anna was at and his feet did not know where he was going and he fell in the fire But he got out he was put back together. There was once a snowman named Cookie Jr. cookie Jr look like he has a black hat and a red gloves and there rocks that were black .and a nose was a crat . It was a cold day by Cookie Jr was not cold. Cookie Jr was silly and some time not to smart. And it was winter in 1 more day until christmas day and Cookie Jr was so happy. One day he try helping use get the snow off the sidewalk and he scoped. Up a peace of snow and put in his face. He wanted sledding he thought it was fun so went back home in the snow. And the next day it was so hot that day and then Cookie Jr realized he was. Snowflake the snowman was very happy. Every time she would walk down the streets she would say hi to other snowmen.She was pretty she had a pink hat withe blue rocks and purple buttons.But one day my “mom said that do you and Snowflake want to take a walk.”.
