Now, it is time to look forward to our 2012 membership campaign. 2012 Membership Dues I have endeavored to simplify the process for chapter treasurers to report membership dues. In years past, each chapter treasurer was responsible for his own devices for reporting membership and submitting chapter checks. Many treasurers would wait to the last minute to get that one last compatriot’s check on December 31st at the risk of all the other chapter members of being dropped for late submission of dues in January. This year, because both the Annual Meeting and the State Secretary’s Membership Reconciliation to the National Society are at the end of January, all dues must be in the State Secretary’s hands for processing on JANUARY 10, 2012 . That short grace period does not leave a lot of time for treasurers to wait to the last minute to submit dues. The good news is that the treasurers are not required to prepare a list or maintain a spreadsheet for submission of dues. These lists and spreadsheets are only for the treasurer’s personal records. The chapter treasurers will receive a Dues Report listing current registered members by email that may be marked with an “ X”. From this report, it is just a matter of sending a check for the total amount based on the number of compatriots marked with an “X”. When the State Secretary receives a dues report from a chapter treasurer, he will email a NEW Dues report confirming the forwarded paid dues.
