Fun for all ages at inaugural Fall Fest The inaugural University Heights Fall Fest will take place on Sunday, October 6th from 1 to 5 p.m. at Walter Stinson Community Park. Open House kicks off Fire Prevention Week

Chief Robert Perko and the University Heights Fire Department invite you and your family to their station for a day of fun and education for all ages on Sunday, October 6th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Celebrate Fire Prevention Week with fire safety talks, station tours, food and activities. Kid activities will include inflatables and a coloring contest. University Hospitals will provide health screenings and food, including Kosher op- tions, while the American Red Cross will dis- tribute fire detector batteries. The 2019 Fire Prevention Week runs from Oc- tober 6th through the 12th. Nationally, this year’s theme is “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape—Plan and Practice Your Escape.” The first Presidential proclamation of Fire Prevention Week was made in 1925 by Calvin Coolidge. The fire station is located at 3980 Silsby Road, right next to City Hall. Fire safety tips will be featured on the city’s social media accounts throughout Fire Pre- vention Week.
