SALE ON THE VERANDA

Visions Art Museum Annual Two Day Sale

We have HUNDREDS of yards of donated fabric for quilting, crafting, dress-making and home decor at our biggest fabric sale of the year, the Visions SALE ON THE VERANDA.

There are great bargains on prints, solids, batiks, calico and silk plus beautiful, yarn and thread. You'll also find quilting books, jewelry and decor items.

This year we also have a large section of quilts.

We'll see you on the Veranda in front of the museum across the street from Art Walk at Liberty Station. Art Walk is San Diego's original fine art festival with over 175 artists, food, and live music.

If you would like to donate fabric, decor items or jewelry, you can drop off your donation at the museum beginning Tuesday, Au- gust 4th between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Don't miss out on this terrific opportunity to refresh your fabric stash or dress up your home with a quilt. All proceeds will benefit the museum's exhibition program.

1. Make a quilt inspired by one or all with at least one noticeable unconventional material, such as metal, plastic, or recycled items

2. Quilt must be 14” square, minimum of two layers 3. Please have a label on the back with your name, date, name of the quilt, and types of unconventional materials used. Quilt needs to have a sleeve on the back so it is ready to hang.

Quilts are due by November 14th.They can be turned in at any meeting between now and then, or dropped off at the Pink Daisy Studio. Please call Michalee Sloan to make arrangements for drop off; 619-302-6068.

5. The quilts will be displayed at the November meeting.

6. There will be a silent auction with minimum bids starting at $100, if not sold they will be on sale at Vi- sions and if still not sold will be returned to maker. All quilts will be returned following the Visions exhibit.

7. There will be two awards: one viewer’s choice and one professional judge award.

IMPORTANT CANYON WORKSHOP INFORMATION

Canyon Quilt Guild offers exciting programs with guest teachers in February, March, April, May, and October each year. Workshops are held the Saturday and Sunday before the meeting-night lecture. They are held either at Rosie’s Calico Cupboard in La Mesa, Memory Lane Quilt Shop in El Cajon or Paradise Sewing in Poway. The cost of a 2-day workshop for members is $85 and $100 for non-members. Non-members are invited to sign up 30 days in advance if there are spaces available. One-day workshops are $45 for members and $55 for non-members. Workshops are 6 hours a day and begin at 9:30 on Saturday, ending at 4:00, and beginning at 10:00 on Sunday, ending at 4:30.

To register for classes, sign up at the regular meeting and provide a $25 non-refundable deposit. You may also sign up by contacting Michalee Sloan at [email protected] or 619-302-6068 for further instructions. The balance of the class fee is due 60 days before the workshop.
