Investor’s Daily Expands and Enhances Print, Digital Features; Launches New Column by Founder William J. O’Neil

LOS ANGELES (April 24, 2012) — Investor’s Business Daily (IBD) today announced changes to its print and digital editions that will make it easier for readers to find winning as they emerge. IBD will also launch a new weekly column written by IBD founder and publisher, William J. O’Neil.

“Since we started IBD in 1984,” O’Neil said, “we’ve had one simple goal: to show anyone willing to learn how to make in stocks. These new changes now make it even easier for readers to succeed.”

IBD is known for its unique screens, investor education programs like IBD® Meetups and its proprietary CAN SLIM® Investing System – the #1 growth strategy from 1998 – 2011*. For decades, investors across America and around the world have relied on IBD’s ratings and research to help determine which stocks to buy, and just as importantly, when to get into and out of the market.

The enhancements announced today are the culmination of a -term review of every aspect of the paper, in conjunction with IBD’s ongoing study of every market cycle and top-performing stock going back to 1880.

“At IBD, we are always innovating and rethinking how to empower investors to succeed in the market,” said Chris Gessel, Executive Editor and Chief Strategy Officer. “These new changes are part of our ongoing mission to ensure IBD remains the #1 source for the best market research.”

Key changes include:

• How To Find & Own America’s Greatest Opportunities –Using actual examples of stocks that made huge advances, in his new column O’Neil will show readers how to identify potential winners and pinpoint the right time to buy – and sell. He’ll challenge the conventional wisdom that has gotten both new and experienced investors into trouble, and provide specific rules to eliminate those mistakes and build future success.

• IBD 50 – IBD’s flagship list of the 50 top-rated growth stocks will now be updated on both Mondays and Wednesdays. The charts provided for each stock, many now in color, have been enlarged for easier reading. Also, the ratings and research for each IBD 50 stock has been enhanced for even quicker review.

• What’s the ? Page – Readers will now get a complete snapshot of overall market trends and analysis in one convenient place. The new What’s the Market Trend? page will include: The Big Picture column that shows which of three possible stages the market is currently in; the Top 20 and Bottom 20 Industry Groups; a list of the top-performing ETFs to alert readers to sector strength; and annotated charts of the major indexes.

• New Stock Screens – To focus on the most important action by the leading stocks, Best Price % Change and Most Volume % Change screens will be added to the General Markets page to highlight top-performers in each of 4 IBD screens: IBD 50, Top Sector Stocks, Stocks Just Out of Bases and Your Weekly Review.

Other new screens include: Top Sector Stocks – highlights the very best-performers within a given industry sector; Stocks Pulling Back to the 10-week Line – focuses on leading stocks that may be offering additional buying opportunities.

• New Article for New High List –Virtually all big winners appear in the New HighList early in their runs. To help readers spot those with the most potential, a new accompanying article will now feature analysis of key New Highs stocks on a daily basis.

“Anyone can be a successful investor,” says O’Neil, who started out with just $500 in the 1950s. “But you need rules, unbiased research and time-tested education. IBD gives you all the tools required. You supply the determination.”
