in the Southwest Region Our hearts rejoice for the first quarter's baptismal report. One year ago we had 28 baptisms for the first quarter, and thus far with several churches still out — we have ninety-two (92) baptisms. Elder Phipps, our conference evangelist, has promoted at least a 10% increase in all churches as a part of the "Evangelism Explosion for '79," which we pray will give us 1,000 for the year. We are working and praying that this will be a reality for the first time in the history of our conference. All churches appear to be catching the spirit of evange- lism.
