There are yet now excellent examples of Belgian societies who have given an extra value to the organising committees of the past Olympic Games such as for instance Sydney, Athens, Turin, Vancouver and Beijing. On the basis of their technological know- how and the price-quality proportion, many of these companies have all the trumps in their hands to be even as successful in their services to the organisers of the coming Olympic Games or other great world sports events. Technology in sport has become so important for the Olympic athletes that National Olympic Committees (NOCs), such as the BOIC, mostly appreciate the efforts of these societies in the field of research, production and management. ”Together to the top” is a goal we want, from within the BOIC, to pursue- fully so as to allow our athletes and our societies to score with brilliant results during the coming Olympic Games and World championships. ”You never win alone”, this adagio is also of application for the Belgian Sports Technology Club. Together with the governmental authorities, the regions, the federations, and their members, the BOIC wants to go for the result we all seek after : quality in performance. 6 www.sportstechnology.be 611997:BOIC boekje 26-07-2010 14:08 Pagina 7 ACCESS CONTROL Do you know our Access Control members ? - Managed operations of IT during Olympic Games of Athens, Beijing and London - Supplied equipment for pedestrians and vehicles at Olympic Games in Sydney - Printed and concepted 8 million tickets for Olympic Games in Athens, 1,2 million European Championship Soccer in Belgium - The Netherlands in 2000 - Developed the security system of the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 and European Parliament in Strasbourg, Brussels and Luxembourg - Offered a biometric access control system during the World Series by Renault in 2006 ACCESS CONTROL www.sportstechnology.be 7 611997:BOIC boekje 26-07-2010 14:08 Pagina 8 Automatic Systems Products/services www.automatic-systems.com Access control equipment for pedestrians and vehicles References in the world of international sports events Contact 1992 John De Winter - Olympic Stadium Expo ’92 - Isla de la Cartuja - Sevilla - Spain: General Manager tripod turnstiles and rising barriers [email protected] - Football Club - Barcelona tel. +32 10 23 02 13 - Football Club Groningen - Groningen - The Netherlands - Football Club - Benfica Annual turnover - Olympic Stadia COOB ’92 - Barcelona - Spain: rising barriers 50 million € (2008) 1996 - Football stadia of Enugu & Calabar ñ Nigeria: full-height turn- Workforce stiles 1998 280 employees - Olympic Games - Sydney - Australia: automatic gates -
