The award has earlier been bestowed on several world leaders, including Russian President , Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and Chinese President .PM Modi thanked the UAE government for the honour and dedicated the award to the skills and abilities of 1.3 billion Indians. The award was conferred on Modi by the Abu Dhabi crown prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi. Source- Businesstoday

PM MODI CONFERRED KING HAMAD ORDER OF THE RENAISSANCE BY BAHRAIN Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred the King Hamad Order of the Renaissance by Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa in recognition of his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with the key Gulf nation. PM Modi, the first Indian prime minister to visit Bahrain, received the honour on 24 August night when he called on the King of Bahrain. The King bestowed Bahrain Order — First Class on Prime Minister Modi in recognition of his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the official Bahrain News Agency reported. Prime Minister Modi in his acceptance speech, said that he felt very honoured and fortunate to be awarded The King Hamad Order of the Renaissance by Bahrain. “I am equally honoured by Your Majesty’s friendship for me and for my country,” he said. BWF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019: PV SINDHU BECAME 1ST INDIAN TO WIN GOLD P V Sindhu on 25 August became the first Indian to win badminton World Championships gold by beating familiar rival Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in a lop-sided final. The Indian won 21-7 21-7 in the summit clash that lasted just 38 minutes. Two years after being robbed of the gold by Okuhara in an epic 110-minute final at Glasgow that went down as one of the greatest battles in badminton history, Sindhu finally exorcised the ghost of that heart-wrenching loss with a completely dominating win over the same opponent. : indianembassyjakarta.com : IndianEmbJkt : IndiaInIndonesia : IndianEmbJkt 2 ‘SARAL’- STATE ROOFTOP SOLAR ATTRACTIVENESS INDEX LAUNCHED BY POWER MINISTER The Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy (IC) and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, RK Singh launched the State Rooftop Solar Attractiveness Index-SARAL on 21 August 2019. The State of Karnataka has been placed at the first rank in the Index that evaluates Indian states based on their attractiveness for rooftop development. Telangana, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh have got 2nd, 3rd and 4th rank respectively. Launching the Index, RK Singh said that it would incentivise rooftop solar by creating healthy competition among the States. He encouraged all States to adopt the best practices being followed by top ranking States. SARAL has been designed collaboratively by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation (SSEF), Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and Ernst & Young (EY). It was launched during the Review Planning and Monitoring (RPM) Meeting with States and State Power Utilities. SARAL currently captures five key aspects - i. robustness of policy framework, ii. implementation environment, iii. investment climate, iv. consumer experience and v. business ecosystem. BHARATCRAFT PORTAL: GOVERNMENT TO LAUNCH E-COMMERCE MARKETING PLATFORM Union minister Nitin Gadkari on 22 August said the government's plan to launch Bharatcraft portal, an e-commerce marketing platform, has the potential to achieve revenues of around Rs 10 lakh crore in the 2-3 years."The Bharatcraft portal, which will be on the lines of Alibaba and Amazon, will provide a platform for MSMEs to market and sell their products and in turn boost the sector," Gadkari said.Speaking at 200th listing of an MSME company 'Wonder Fibromats' on NSE EMERGE, Gadkari said, "We want to give a boost to the MSME sector which is currently contributing nearly 29 per cent to the manufacturing segment and 40 per cent to the exports."The MSME sector has the potential to generate additional employment of 5 crore in the next five years. The government has set a target to increase the contribution of MSMEs in the manufacturing sector to 50 per cent in the next five years, he added.
