Lancaster's Hometown Airline to Serve Washington-Dulles Lancaster’s Hometown Airline to Serve Washington-Dulles Southern Airways to keep Pittsburgh, Switch from Baltimore to United’s D.C. Hub LANCASTER – April 15, 2013 — Southern Airways Express, the hometown airline of Lancaster since 2016, is moving its East Coast hub from Baltimore to Washington Dulles International Airport. The move will take place on June 28. Tickets are on sale now. Washington Dulles offers nonstop service to 92 domestic and 55 international destinations. Southern is in late-stage discussions with United Airlines on execution of an interline partnership, which would allow seamless connections to the carrier’s massive network. “Southern and our mid-Atlantic markets are poised for a big COVID comeback, as pandemic- weary travelers return to the skies and their favorite summer destinations,” said Mark Cestari, Chief Commercial Officer at Southern Airways. “Our new service pattern will also make it easier than ever for busy business travelers to enjoy single connections to more destinations all around the world, with the convenience of flying from their hassle-free hometown airport.” Southern’s service to Pittsburgh International Airport will continue. Passengers connecting at Pittsburgh have numerous low-cost options as well as the ability to interline with both American Airlines and Alaska Airlines. Interlined flights feature automatic baggage transfers to and from the passenger’s final destination. There will be two daily departures to Pittsburgh, the remaining three daily departures will go to Washington Dulles. In addition to upgrading its East Coast hub, Southern Airways is also in the process of completing a fleet renovation project which includes an updated aircraft livery, new leather upholstery, and the addition of charging ports at each seat for passengers to use in-flight. For more information, or to arrange an interview, please contact Todd Smith ([email protected] 615-202-7944) or Southern’s chief marketing officer, Keith Sisson ([email protected] 228-313-9920). Founded in 2013, Palm Beach-based Southern Airways has quickly grown to become one of the largest commuter airlines in the United States. Operating a fleet of Cessna Caravans and Grand Caravans, Southern, along with its subsidiary, Mokulele Airlines, serves 37 cities with more than 220 peak-day departures from hubs at Baltimore, Dallas/Ft.Worth, Honolulu, Kahului, Los Angeles, Memphis, and Pittsburgh, plus seasonal hubs at Palm Beach and Nantucket. Rome, 4 June 2015 - Alitalia today introduced its new brand, new aircraft livery and new visual identity to its employees, to the worldwide media, and to key business and institutional stakeholders. The new developments were unveiled at a major launch event at Rome's Fiumicino Airport, for more than 1,500 Alitalia staff, who were joined by a special guest of honour, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. The airline also announced product upgrades across all classes of service on its international wide-body fleet with the aim of repositioning itself on the world stage as a leader in superior service and a powerful ambassador for Italy. The new developments mark a major milestone for Italy’s national airline, as it revitalises its business across all areas of its global operations. “The new livery presented today marks a major milestone in the history of one of the most iconic Italian brands in the world,” said Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Chairman of Alitalia. “We have also unveiled the results of the outstanding work to create more comfortable interiors and to introduce a strong, innovative service culture. “Alitalia’s livery is universally associated with Italy and viewed as iconic and highly- recognised.
