Aquestes publicacions formen part de la col·lecció Eines d’Internacionalització, una iniciativa editorial de l’Institut Català de les Indústries Culturals pensada per afavorir l’exportació de la producció cultural catalana, augmentant-ne la presència internacional. Aquesta tercera guia vol oferir una visió general de cinc dels principals mercats dis- cogràfi cs d’Àsia i Oceania: Austràlia, Corea del Sud, Índia, Japó i Xina (amb una especial dedicació a Hong Kong i a Taiwan). El llibre pretén mostrar algunes pinzellades que serveixin per descriure les tendències actuals en aquests mercats i els canvis més recents que s’hi estan produint, així com algunes de les característiques més distintives de cadascun dels països inclosos en l’estudi. La guia vol ser, per tant, un instrument útil per a aquelles empreses interessades a introduir els seus productes en aquests mercats d’Àsia i del Pacífi c, un dels punts de destinació encara no prou explorat per les produccions de la indústria discogràfi ca catalana, habitualment més centrada en els mercats europeus. Però precisament perquè avui en dia la indústria discogràfi ca mundial viu una situació molt complexa, és més necessari que mai per a una indústria com la catalana l’obertura cap a nous mercats, complexos però alhora amb un notable potencial, com són els dels sis països analitzats en aquestes pàgines. The music industry has grown in the last fifty years to become an important global industry. It encompasses a major area of economic activity, and attracts huge global investment.     FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 17, 2012 RIVER ROCK CASINO RESORT & CLASSIC ROCK 101 PRESENT JOE WALSH SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 Richmond, BC – Best known for his popular guitar licks, musician Joe Walsh has entertained the masses and captivated his peers for more than three decades with such classics as “Funk #49”, “Walk Away”, “Life’s Been Good”, “A Life of Illusion” and “Ordinary Average Guy”. Walsh had played with many bands but it wasn’t until 1969 when he joined the Cleveland based power trio, The James Gang that he got a taste of sweet success. The Gang released four albums in the early 70’s … two of which went gold. Joe then decided to head west to Colorado where he put together the trio, Barnstorm in 1972 and released two albums. Still feeling there was something more for him, Joe released his first solo album in 1974. So What proved Joe a legitimate solo act with a limitless career on the horizon. Then in 1976, he was asked by the Eagles to replace guitarist Bernie Leadon bringing a harder rock sound to the group. At the end of the year, they released their fifth studio album, Hotel California which went gold reaching #1 on the Billboard Charts followed by The Long Run (1979) and Eagles Live (1980) reaching Billboard’s #1 and #6 respectively. At the same time, Joe released two solo albums ...You Can’t Argue With a Sick Mind (1976) and But Seriously Folks (1978) which boasted the notorious hit, “Life’s Been Good”. During the 14-year hiatus of the Eagles, Joe focussed on his solo career releasing several albums including There Goes The Neighborhood (1981), The Confessor (1985) and Ordinary Average Guy (1991).

As a producer, Mr. Asher has worked with such diverse artists as James Taylor, 10,000 Maniacs, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Ringo Starr, Linda Ronstadt, Hans Zimmer, Ed Sheeran, Miguel and Cher, among many others. He has produced thirteen Grammy Award-winning recordings, and in 1977 and 1989 won the Grammy for "Producer of the Year". Recent projects include the production of “So Familiar” the follow-up album (released October 2015) to the highly successful (and Grammy-winning) “Love Has Come for You” (Steve Martin & Edie Brickell), which has also generated a PBS special and a stage musical, “Bright Star”, of which Peter is the music supervisor. “Bright Star”, directed by Walter Bobbie, opened on Broadway in March of 2016 and the Broadway Cast Album (produced by Peter) was released in May. Peter also directed the highly acclaimed Hans Zimmer live concerts (“Hans Zimmer Revealed”), which took place in London on October 10th and 11th .2014 and toured Europe extensively in the spring of 2016. In the New Year’s Honours list for 2015, Peter Asher was awarded a CBE (“Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire”) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. The official investiture took place at Buckingham Palace on February the 24th.
